Actually Alice put it there after the photographer mistakenly delivered it to the house, she claimed Carol already looked there so she wouldn't look again but yeah, she could have put it back out of sight like it was before she took it out to show Mike.

Eve Plumb had such pretty hair. I remember watching the show in reruns during the 70s and telling my mother I wanted long hair like Jan. To my surprise, she let me grow it out. By 12 yrs old it was waist length.

I agree with you there. She was probably 3 feet away from him and couldn't hear him. I spent 2 of my 4 years in the Navy on the USS Abraham Lincoln a nuclear aircraft carrier and I can still hear. Good point. Also Carol could have easily noticed it if she was in the garage for whatever reason, or if she pulled up in the car. She’d surely be wondering what it was and would probably ask around and everyone would have to come up with a cover story or something.
