This song captured my heart back in 1992 as an 11 year old boy. ❤️ Back then it wasn’t cool to like this type of music as a young teen or you were made fun of. Well, I am 4 months away from being 37 and don’t give a rats ass what people think about me now. This song is a Masterpiece and I love it just as much now as I did then. It gives me the goosebumps. Makes me happy and makes me sad.

"Do you ever think about just running away?" Shoulda thought sooner, and done it. But there are reasons why you don't. I know em well. You just can't imagine any other way. The world is huge and full of even worse shit than the abuse. When your abusers are your only providers, you don't move no matter WHAT you know. Pain and misery or not, you wanna live. Mood perfectly captured, and I suppose you can certainly read a lot of that into the whole thing. Not sure if it was meant to be really "stated" in this film or not, but it does certainly talk about it at the very least. Maybe If Drew had had the fortune to make a friend as bad off as he himself was, they might really HAVE run, and Drew would've avoided what came.
