Jan, I don’t know if you’ll ever see this, but I believe that everything happens for a reason and that God’s times are perfect. Around the time this video came out, I was going through somewhat of a breakdown, it’s that point in which the things you’ve been dealing with for a long time and that you’ve been carrying on your back weigh too much and your knees and spirit don’t seem strong enough, in my case, mixed feelings about the things I loved, as well as those of self-doubt about many aspects of me as a person, “am I too much? Or am I too little?” Kind of things. I hadn’t watched the video the day of its release, I didn’t know why, I always watched your new covers the same day, but then I knew. I connected so much with this video I couldn’t believe it. I felt every single word of your speech in the beginning as if I was saying them. Upon the new moon, I dressed in all black and a black tule cloak I made, I started a fire and wrote all of the negative things that were weighing on me. I connected with myself and burned the negativity away, healing my spirit and dancing with the new moon to celebrate a new cycle, a new me. I want. To rule. The world. But things didn’t go the way I planned. The thing that I loved to do the most became something I associated with sadness and failure. I went from ultimate joy and anticipation to a level of heartbreak I have never felt. My whole life led up to that moment, and I couldn’t help but feel that’s the way I let everyone down. My family, my friends, my fans... and myself. My heart stopped. But I knew that it’s not done beating. And in order for me to embrace the future, I had to let go of the sorrow from my past. I knew that something else was out there, but I also knew that if didn’t finish this chapter, I’d never write the rest of the book. I felt so inspired and so motivated, welcoming a new stage of my life, with four words resonating in my heart... “This is my night”. Thank you Jan, truly.
