Always they follow each other to the hospital, stay by the bedside, keep watch over each other. Seven seasons of them moving with and around one another like magnets, pulling each other out of danger, noticing each other's sadness, and they made it look effortless, instinctive. I have seen many tv love stories before, this one is very nearly celestial.

Lisbon always cared about Jane. If the 1st season finale didn't express that than people are blind. And for the fact Patrick killed the officer that could lead them to Red John to save Lisbon means that he does care about who lives and who dies

Don't know if this helps but "carmenlee" is an anagram of "enmalecer" which, I think, is a Spanish word for "spoil". As in he has spoiled Lisbon for Jane? Maybe!?! Who knows.

This story line only made sense in the writers's mind. Why RJ didn't kill Lisbon? He had the opportunity to do it. And is a way better to play Jane. But I think the motive to not kill Lisbon, or at least injured her, is to add a red hearing to the plot, trying to implant thought in the viewers that RJ could be Hafnener, cause he seems interested in Lisp

In fact, I believe RJ didn't kill Lisbon because he wants to play with Jane. And killing Lisbon could "kill" him and he wouldn't play anymore. This is not what RJ wanted. He just wanted to show the "power".

Had Jane and Lisbon been in a relationship at this point Red John would have certainly tried to kill her. I recall Jane having a brief relationship with a Psychic lady, and she was attacked soon after.
