Thank you for all these beautiful gowns, hats, shoes, etc., my favourite fashion era. I did spot one Edwardian gown, two film costumes, and a 1960s dress amongst them all, though.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make such a beautiful video of Regency fashion. I had to watch it 3 times in a row and still wanted more. All the best Lynne Jones

Amo la ropa de esa época. Es tan linda y elegante. Aun hay diseñadores que crean trajes de novia inspirándose en ello. Me encanta 💖 😍 💕 ♥

Those shoes make my feet hurt just looking at them. Flat feet and fallen arches must have been the order of the day. Lovely dresses and beautiful detail work Thank you for the video.

Susan Davis I doubt that. Arch support is not really needed. Your feet will hurt at first because they aren’t used to it, but eventually your feet strengthen and you don’t notice. I walk for 6-8 hours a day without arch support a lot of times.

i have to say i dont agree about the shoes.. at age 65 i have a plethora of feet problems from working on my feet most of my life.. i recently discovered simple ballet slipper style shoes and they are awesome. the only time my feet dont hurt is barefoot or in these type shoes. i also have vertigo & balance issues. i do Much better in these flats.(& feel safer) whats Really nice is they work well for a number of time periods too. as they can be 'dressed up with ribbons etc.. and best of all they dont have to be expensive i get mine at shoes for less & walmart !!!

They made my feet happy looking at them. No heels.

I’m tall and have bunions plus very high arches. Ballet slippers and flats are much more comfortable than shoes with more than a 1 inch heel. Considering how much walking and dancing these ladies did a pair of stiletto heels would have been impractical and extremely dangerous/painful.

Nice video, but I wish you would identify the year, name of the garment and location of the garment, that would be really helpful. Thanks.

+Tee Bee Hi. Thanks. Is there any gown you have in mind? I made this video to show a whole array of fashion during the early 19th Century not really to focus on any gown. If you have any gowns that you are interested in just let me know and I'll try to find the information. As well, my Pinterest page has more detailed information on many of these gowns. You can find me at Shesasupergeek. I also have more accessories of that time as well. :)

+ILoveFashion-shesasupergeek The gowns that interest me are the ones worn in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, particularly the gowns for Keira Knightley.

I have a lot of info for these garments: The gowns were actually fashions from the 1790's since the designer did not like the fashions from the 1810's when the book was published. Jaqueline Durran(designer) based the gowns on when the book was actually written (1790's). You can see this on Keiras gowns as they were slightly lower on her torso. Keira wore mostly long sleeves because of her arm muscles. Her colours were earthy toned middle class materials (mostly non silk or satin) since her characters mother had to use her yearly allotment of 250 pounds on all her girls and dresses were very expensive. Now, Keiras character would have one fine dress which is her white one( non married ladies usually wore very light colours). That would be made of satin and silk. Her shoes would consist of satin slippers for special occasions and brown leather boots for her outdoor lifestyle. I think I could keep going for hours lol. If you have any other questions I'd love to answer them as I am a historical junkie. I hope this helps :)

+ILoveFashion-shesasupergeek Fashions of the Regency/Empire period usually had specific names like the blue coat on Jane is called a Spencer. That's what I want to know, that and the names of the dress parts. The triangular thing on Lady Catherine is called a stomacher. It was usually richly embroidered and either sewn or attached to the bodice and outer dress with hooks. Sleeves also could attached with stitching or hooks. This was to accommodate the changes in tastes and sizes (ie pregnancy) in women.

The Empire/Regency fashions are my very favorite. I like the simpler silhouette, especially when compared to clothing of the 1750s-early 1790s and the rest of the clothing from 1830-1900. What a shame that it went out of fashion and was replaced by those horrid gigot sleeves and the outrageous hairstyles that came right after this fashion.
