It’s funny how much time and effort Hugh jackman put into being ripped and animalistic to play wolverine for decades and then he does musicals in his spare time. The man is a wildcard for sure

Hugh Jackman originally came from musical theater. You should definitely check out his plays from before the X Men!

What's cool is Zendaya and Zac did all the stunts for Rewrite The Stars. They took lessons for this movie, there's behind the scene footage of them on youtube somewhere

For Jane to not know this movie existed is crazy. Also, Hugh Jackman won a Tony Award on Broadway 20 years ago, before the first Xmen movie was released. He is definitely doing his own singing!
@BrienBellJTS7 ай бұрын
He won the Tony for Best Actor in a Musical for The Boy From Oz in 2004-which was 4 years after the first X-Men released in 2000. He was also nominated in the same category for The Music Man in 2022 (he lost to Myles Frost for MJ).
@daverowe037 ай бұрын
@BrienBellJTS oh my bad. For some reason, I had 2004 in my mind as the release date of Xmen. Either way, the man is extremely talented, and to question his singing ability is laughable.

Actually Hugh is a huge stage and musical actor, fun fact he only accepted the role of wolverine so he could become buddies with the execs and higher ups so they would produce his passion projects (this movie for example, he wanted to play Barnum in a musical since he was a teenager) Also Zac Efron was always able to sing but when they wrote the music for HSM 1 he hadn't been casted yet and were written in a different tone I believe and when he showed then that he could in fact sing it was too late and they had already casted Drew Seeley for his voice over, when HSM 2 came around they already new Zac would be singing and wrote everything for his range. If you haven't seen Hairspray he's also an amazing there (it's also a musical).

Even though this movie is extremely historically inaccurate, if you just watch it as a musical movie, it’s very entertaining with very catchy music.

It wasn't PT Barnum's dream to be a ring master because they didn't exist at the time. The Greatest Showman is the true story of the FIRST circus by PT Barnum.
@BrienBellJTS7 ай бұрын
Well, *true* story is a biiiiiit of a stretch, but yes, it was based on the life of the real PT Barnum and the development of his circus… with quite a few liberties. 😅

I teared up seeing Zac Efron too. High School Musical was a huge part of my childhood. HSM3 was the first time I cut school 💀 My friends and I saw it in theaters. This movie was years after Hairspray and after Zac tried to distance himself from musicals so it was great to see him perform again ♥️
@brittanygidley12914 ай бұрын
so the scene where she sings never enough, that's not her singing, it's in fact a woman named Loren Allred, she wanted to be behind the scenes doing the vocals, the person who lip synced it did a good job at it. Loren came onto Britians got talent and performed it on there, Simon was excited cause he said it was one of his favorite songs in that movie. i'm just so happy that Loren came out behind those curtains and showed her true talent. i loved this movie, i just watched it a few mins ago lol. i felt emotional when they were singing the song this is me.
@t.bartley57682 ай бұрын
Loren was actually the one who sang the demo version of the song, the actress, Rebecca Ferguson, was supposed to take voice lessons and get to the point where she could sing it. When Ferguson heard Loren’s version of the song on tape she basically said “No, Loren was meant to sing that song” and the rest is history.

Such a fun film.... "Yeah, interracial couple!" And wow, that quote at the end really hit Jane hard. This is one of the few new films I bought on 4k bluray (usually I am more about the 4k remasters of older films from the 80s). But the visuals are amazing, great mix of practicaland CG, and the music was a lot of fun. I am sure it has been mentioned, but there is a video about "This is Me" and the first test performance for some cast members and producers. It really is great, with Jackman tearing up. His eyes got all.....jacked, man. 😜 This reminds me: I have been meaning to do a rewatch of "Into the Woods". I havent watched it in YEARS but remember liking it and watching it with my son when he was little.

Not only do I love the movie for its music I also love the message of not getting too overwhelmed in work. As a husband and father I constantly try to make sure I am giving my kids time and not focusing on giving them that perfect life through money.

There's a good video of "From Now On". Hugh Jackman wasn't supposed to sing due to nasal surgery or something. So the backup guy is going to practice with the cast. Hugh shows up anyway for moral support. They said he'd be there. Hugh gets so caught up in the moment, he ignores doctor's orders and takes over mid-song, which just amps the cast up more.

It would be fantastic to see you react to two green lighting videos; "The Greatest Showman | "This Is Me" with Keala Settle | 20th Century FOX," and The Greatest Showman | "From Now On" with Hugh Jackman | 20th Century FOX." You might end up with tears in your eyes though.

On Americas Got Talent last year I think it was a Loren Allred the lady who actually sang never enough came on and auditioned. It was awesome seeing the lady who actually sang do it. She said that Rebecca after hearing Loren sing the song said let her sing I will lip sync. The song is already amazing on its own but once you see Loren sing it it’s even more wow.

I absolutely love this movie. I only watched it because my kids wanted to watch it but I love it. I love the music. I love the visuals. And I loved your reaction. If you haven't seen it already, be sure to watch the audition tape for "From now on". They needed to convince the studio that the movie was worth making so they recorded a bunch of the songs and (I think) did a read through. But Hugh had a medical issue at the time which meant he couldn't sing. But.. Well. You'll see! I don't know if I can add links in comments - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hp3YkoOsndB8g7c - check it out in your own time for sure, but if you decided to - I'd LOVE to see a reaction on the channel because it gets me every single time!

I love this movie so much and how they sing the songs in an original way also just so you know Rebeca Fergeson wasn't actually singing that song. Here are a few things you need to know about the real story this is based on..one Hugh's character in real life wasn't that of a good man...he was using them for his own profit in many ways though he wasn't completly heartless either and 2 and this is the most important Jenny Lin was nit the villian of the story nor did she at any time hit on him or try to ruin his career or relashionship with his wife. Any way with that being said grate reaction as always and glad you liked the movie..for the record Hugh's chacater's wife is Michelle Williams and honostly I had no idea she could sing or that hugh could before seeing this movie.

If you’re wondering if it’s true James Anthony Bailey did in fact marry a woman of colour. Ruth McCaddon was a woman of colour but she wasn’t part of the circus until after they married and became a owner. They meet in Zanesville, Ohio. James and Ruth became friends, fell in love, and were married in December 1868.

I'm 10min in & I can't stand hearing you two just jabber over everything! A reaction should involve you actually watching & listening so you can react to what's being said/ happening onscreen. I suggest you at least put captions on so you don't have to keep asking what's going on. And BTW if you're not familiar with musicals, understand that most of the time the lyrics are just as important in moving the story forward as the dialogue.
@Iisa_potato_girl2 ай бұрын
even though I agree a reaction should involve them watching and listening you have no right to tell reactors how to do their job if you don’t like it don’t watch it simple as that
