Yes, I'm so glad I did the 3rd day and found a way to make this work for my redness! I love that lip, too. When you're making is somehow not working - the colors aren't "singing" (and it happens), I find a bright lip really helps!

Great reminder to me to keep playing before giving up on a product. I love the idea of just evening out tone. I don’t wear foundation everyday. I do use skincare consistently. So your comment about using this after moisturizers is interesting. I am guessing it didn’t gather in the marionette area? That would be a huge bonus. Lisa J has flawless skin.

I have combo skin, redness from rosacea and own this foundation. I agree with you that unless you have great skin, it’s too sheer to wear on its own. It looks great with Jane Iredale pressed powder foundation. I follow the powder base up with a spritz of thermal water to take away the matte finish. Thanks for the content!

I purchased this a couple months ago due to influencer Mandy Davis who loves all things Jane Iredale. I have to say it is almost like no coverage at all, but it has a nice feel, I never saw Lisa J say anything about the tint but she did do a full review on the Jane Iredale powder foundation which is also lovely.

I think you have fantastic skin for 60. I'm 63 this year.. think I've been lucky, still have reasonable skin too, but have discovered I have to now look after it and use moisturiser and it needs a bit of make-up to look fresh...I've just started following you, as you must be doing something right to look so good 👍👍😍 but if that is a serum foundation and good for the skin, why don't you put it on your eyes, because it's very obvious it's not on the eyelids...

It will be a pass for me. My skin is nowhere near as good as yours, I have freckles, sun damage, texture, this tinted serum will do nothing for me. On the subject of sun damage, please could you do a video on sunscreens. I have tried many, and I am searching for one which would allow me to easily put my foundation over it. Thanks!

Hi Christine! I have oily skin in the summer, normal to oily combo skin in the colder months. Then there’s the joy of sun damage and texture. Finding a sunscreen that doesn’t remain tacky, is easy to reapply and works well under foundation is a challenge, but I have three suggestions. Beauty of Joseon 50 spf and isntree watery gel 50 spf both work well umder makeup. The former appears heavier that Innisfree, but absorbs really well. For me, Beauty of Joseon works the best The secret to using either of them successfully is letting them set for at least 10 minutes, which is easier said than done. My third suggestion is any of the Elta MD sunscreens. If you’re oily, then the Clear 46 spf (untinted works well. It takes longer for this sunscreen to set; I find that’s true of most US sunscreens. The tinted formula might work for you, but they’re usually too peachy or yellow for me. Good luck!

Hi Christine - I do have a "sunscreen saturday" series over two years worth sunscreens! I'll be dipping back into it in the coming weeks. The Tula sunscreen I mentioned in the video is one of my favorites because it's slightly peachy and tones down my readness. It's super comfortable.

@@ChrissieSM you’re welcome. There’s a typo in my initial message, the second sunscreen should be Isntree, not Innesfree, which is a totally different company. Yes, I understand about sunscreen. I’m from the Southern US, but spent much of my early school years in Central America and Asia. Lots and lots of sun and hot weather, so much time was spent outdoors. I never even thought about sunscreen until I was twice diagnosed with skin cancer in my early 20’s. The only sunscreen readily available was Neutrogena and, although I used those products, it was awful. I’m actually happy that more choices are now available because not everything works. Seems one could mix a few drops of good foundation in with any serum and get these results. I have the Chanel WaterFresh tint, and it just seemed like a lot of money to not be all that impressed - though this one seemed to have a little more pigment than the Chanel. I also don’t like to put such a watery product over my sunscreen, or one that needs to be rubbed in well…I’m afraid it might interfere with the SPF. I find these types of serum foundations look best on me on dry skin with nothing underneath. Still probably going to try it, maybe will get a sample first. I just got the Jane Iredale mineral powder foundation and a lipliner, and I’m pretty impressed with both.

MMMM...not for me. I would wear a foundation for special occasions to even the skin and give a nice second skin, otherwise I don't wear it. I do use the Dior concealer for some patchwork cover...I don't see the point in wearing a tinted serum that doesn't have much coverage...seems a bit of a phaff when you had to cover with the Suqqu and Givenchy.

Very pretty and light look, it appears similar to the Chanel Water Fresh/Le Teint (the first one they launched with the bubble pigment) and a little spot concealer where needed, a little powder, a little blush...if in a rush and/or need to look very natural. I just think this needs a lot of work to make it work. Jane Iredale has excellent products, I am eyeing her CC cream, if I'm going to use a one and done product I want sunscreen and a smidge more coverage.

I watch Lisa J too and left comments letting her know that her lighting is too yellow or bright. She said she will adjust the camera. I think I noticed some differences but nothing major at all. To be honest I don't think her demo is helpful at all given the lighting but she is knowledgeable about makeup given her Mac background and making brushes. Personally I don't believe that she has "perfect" skin.

I am using this product with their powder foundation (only where needed), then I spray my face with a setting mist. I will not re-purchase though. I do not like the hybrid makeup/skincare because I doubt that it will penetrate through my SPF-it is simply an opportunity for companies charge more, in my opinion.

I have ruddy cheeks. Lately I have been using Dr. Jart's Tiger Grass correcting cream. I cover my cheeks and then put regular moisturizer on rest of face or you could put Dr. Jart's all over as moisturizer.all over. This has meant I use less and lighter foundatio. Game changer.

If you're not very oily - you might like this - it doesn't have a moisturizing feeling, more watery. If you run into in a Nordies, see if you can get a sample!

The problem is, it's not really a foundation, but a tint. And I have a LOT of redness. I was simply trying to make it work for my needs. And along the way, I made mistakes. That's part of the journey. On the third day, I got a fantastic look by changing my prep (no C which makes me more red, and a sunscreen with a peach tone which tones down my red). I tried to get across how this might work for people who don't have the kind of redness I have, and how to make it work for those who do have the kind of redness I have.

As a Jane IREDALE salon in Reno Nevada, I absolutely sell more liquid minerals than any other foundation. It works fantastic as a primer and hydrates the skin throughout the day. For my mature clients (over 50) this is my go to with a few dots of foundation on the top. I am a professional artist and aesthetician for 40 years. I absolutely love this product 💖💖

I am on day three of testing this product. I do have a lot of redness on my cheeks and my experience was like yours. It does diffuse some imperfections but I can’t deal with having to add concealer where I normally don’t just to look presentable. I will be returning this. Hi as someone with rosacea this isn't for me. I have used the more "foundation" version years ago before rosacea and liked it, but nowadays I need more coverage. I wore tinted moisturisers and skin tints for many years (when I didn't have all this redness to cover), but those days are gone I'm afraid. I do have a suggestion for your redness however - pastel green colour correctors work great on me, but I'm super pale/cool toned (fitzpatrick one). They will look very white/grey on skin with more warmth and this is where products like the Dr Jart or Rosalique come in (they change from green to beige, yet still retain just enough of a hint of green to disguise redness). The Dr jart is suitable for fairish to light skin and the Rosalique for light to medium skin. I think you would like these better than a straight up pastel green corrector and they will work better with lighter coverage foundations/complexion products. The Dr Jart is available in a 15ml travel size, so it's not too much of an investment to try out. Both contain a bit of extra spf, but obviously your're only using a small amount, so it's not enough to give the full spf listed. I think you will find using this is enough to even out areas of redness and allow something sheer to work much better. these products don't work on me because the tint isn't pale skin appropriate, but as mentioned pastel green works fine on me (I use the Vichy dermablend version btw). I also think this is formulated to pair with her mineral powder foundation for more coverage, so that's something to consider pairing it with. Best wishes.

Yes - it does take place of setting powder. But, I have found if I get sweaty, gets weird - so not for humid weather, hikes, gardening, etc. That said - the product is kind of genius and I'm experimenting with using it under the eyes instead of powder!

Yes - but her skin tone is sooo even and pretty. On the other hand, younger women age better now because they take better care, have access to effective products and are more likely to wear sunscreen than we were in our 20's and 30's!

Thank you for this review! I bougtht this for my daughter who is in her early twenties, has oily skin, and is very sensitive and prone to acne. It's been wonderful for her in covering her redness due to acne flareups and does not aggrivate her acne. It's gentle and looks very natural.
