Well, indeed, this is a nice performance, with the standard lyrics. I know this song was written in Belgium, before it spread throughout the countries (where armed soldiers have been stationed). Right after WW2 was over Bully Buhlan picked-up this song from GI's. His cover version was almost complete in English (not German), but he was singing one line in French "would you come and sleep with me?". You'll find this version (on a demo for broadcast) and his harmless version on AMIGA here on KZbin. This song is a good example on how big the impact of American music and loose life style was in the occupied city of West-Berlin (and elsewhere). Thanx 4 this upload of the Ed Sullivan Show!
