There are plenty of "good" bands out today with very talented musicians. But Jane's Addiction personifies art, and that's something you can't say for alot of today's bands. Maybe it was the times when they came along, I don't know, but they were special. This was recorded after their real hey day (Flea in for Avery), but they pretty much still had it. Whatever it was. I can't put it in words.

when janes was opening for some metal band back 20 years ago i saw them with maybe 250 people. a DRUNK glam guy would NOT stop screaming-drunk but we were looking on in AWE- fans wouldn't miss one word from his mouth singing 4 us. The guy HURLS his fringe leather jacket in drunk offering right at Perry... You gotta believe me, he was no jane's fan. P. stops singing, throws it back and asks, "You think I came all the way to NYC to get your shit? You're missing the point, man." We went WILD.
