I was at this show. We were bussed in to an "undisclosed location" we had tickets purchased for $8.00 each by my friend. There were 300 people atop a ski resort called Snowflake Lodge, i believe. We had BBQ. The pool party. Was sitting feet dangling in the pool when Dave Navarro (had no clue who it was untili saw him get on stage) asked me if i was having fun, which I was. I offered my offering of Santa Cruz kynd kynd, shared a bowl. Then after the show hung out with Perry Ferrell. Offered same, we went behind the lodge. My friend, his friend, Perry rolling consecutive joints. He said he wanted this to be an overnight camping party but the fire department shut it down. He said that was him we passed on the side of the road in a broke down Ferrari. Epic day. Wish i had pictures.

I hadn't been able to bring myself to listen to Janes Addiction. My ex husband introduced me to them when we met in 1994. We had a daughter together and tragically he passed away 2 years ago, it's been really hard knowing he's no longer here. 💔 When I met him he had dreads like Perry and played the bass. He use to say he was the 5th member of Janes Addiction. ❤️ We're still healing from this great loss and these songs help our daughter connect to her Dad. The 90's were an amazing time in music and will forever stay in my memories, as the best time of my life.

I was at the performance that's in this video. It was at a lodge in Mt. Baldy, during the summer. I saw some flyers for a "secret", "special" Jane's Addiction show, for the first (200?) people to call this number after 10:00 am next Saturday. A couple friends and I got tickets and it was a very fun day. All the people who scored tickets were told to come to a parking lot in Hollywood, the morning of the show. From there, we were put on buses for the long ride to Mt. Baldy. Once we got to Mt. Baldy, we got out of the buses and were taken up the mountain, to the lodge, by shuttle. We weren't told to bring anything to swim in. As you can see, a few people were happy to swim in their clothes. I brought along my tape deck, because I loved seeing Jane's and had taped them a bunch of other times. I got a nice recording, but my batteries died after 5 or 6 songs. That left me free to stand directly behind Stephan Perkins for the rest of the show. I'm a drummer and I love watching him play. Super nice, down to earth guy, always approachable at clubs and parties. I complimented and thanked him immediately after the show and he gave me one of the sticks he used. He signed it, saw that the ink was kind of faint, got a different pen, and signed it again. He wasn't mobbed, but Perry had about a dozen people bugging him for autographs. I didn't want to approach because, he seemed bothered enough, but I eventually decided, "Fuck it. I'll be an asshole for an autograph (besides, at this time some people wondered how much longer Perry would be alive). I was too late though and got what I deserved. Perry gave a last autograph and when I approached and asked for one, he said, "I'd rather not." Ok, he wasn't rude and he didn't technically say no, but he didn't know me, he was tired, and he wanted to get wherever he was going. So I said, "No problem man. It was a great show, thanks." Oh well.

The LA of the Mid 80's to mid 90's is forever gone. I may be from Chattanooga, Tennessee..But one of my best friends moved there in 1985. I've been going out there at least a week and staying in West Hollywood off Maryland Drive at my buds home at least 20 times over the years, and it's TOTALLY unrecognizable nowadays. Not even close to enjoyable to visit anymore. Full of homeless fucking liberals holding their hands out...it's sad. And they keep voting THE SAME assholes into office also. It's like everyone is saying, "Look at me!! They're fucking me in the ass and I LOVE it!!!". Tents all over the side walks...

Could have and maybe should have been the biggest album of the 90's. Gonna crank this up today, put the speaker outside and teach the masses. Education through music people

My favorite JA song and always dig the bridge section. So ahead of their time! This song and album is arguably what kicked off the 90's alternative sound. After all Perry Farrell is considered by most to be the godfather of Alternative rock and founded Lollapalooza.

So I was lucky enough to be starting 9th grade in L.A. when this album came out. This album was a ubiquitous part of our teenage years. And yes it was a fun time. It kinda sucks because now I'm 45 but I like to think it was a good trade off to know MTV when it showed actual music videos. Surfing was freaking fun back then, too. Our gaudy as hell wetsuits just like Perry. And KROQ was great. It's nice to have great memories but Nostalgia hurts.

These guys were five to seven years older than their peer group. That's why they're so great. That's how it works, in high schools, colleges, etc, they always recruit slightly older kids to mentor and influence. It's not just athletics, they drop older kids in your science class, drama class, student union, etc. It also explains why you see some boys and girls in school look so "developed" like an older kid, it's because they are an older kid! So, all of you slow, or normal developers who wonder why you're only acting 18, at age 18, when you saw the cool kid you idolized acting 18 at 14, don't be discouraged. That kid probably was 18, or even older. Flunkies explain some of it too, but even they were "recruited" as well. Nothing wrong with it really. They were still somewhat cool and something to aspire too, and still fun to hang out with to be honest. They're the ones that bought you cigarettes, and beer and weed anyway!

Nah, if you think about it, "Stealing" is the popular track all the saps rave over. Those of us who see past all that shit, are in our exclusive club where REAL Jane's connoisseurs can savour the tunes without any old twat knowing! I love testing people, asking them about any other tune. If they appreciate "Three Days" I can accept them.
