It pains me to see the fans disliking her current persona seem to be mainly because she's showing a bit more skin and not the original suits that used to prove a point about heavy sexualization in the music culture (that may be still an issue but not in all cases). Janelle has always been sexy in her own way, it's not just this phase, check her older lyrics if you doubt that. I believe she's giving herself to the moment, not giving her soul to the industry. If you think about it deeper, the way she's expressing is not the same as say, 50 Cent or Nicki Minaj... being sexy is not unidimensional.

I think we're watching her evolve and it's really beautiful. It's kind of sad when folks can't identify with the natural rhythm of life...like maybe they missed that part of their young adulthood...or they want to forget.
