Thanks for your question. Can you explain a little more what you are looking for. Do you mean how to combine stitches to create lacey textures, such as the V stitch for example? Tell me a little more and maybe I can come up with a tutorial along the line you are thinking of.

@@jspcreate Yes. Which stitches work well together, how to determine how many sts should be in a chain, whether to use a dc or trc, etc., and how to increase the rounds evenly so the square will have even edges and not ruffled edges.

Alot of it has been trial and error over the years, but I will put a tutorial on my to do list of basic designing, such stitch combos, increasing, decreasing and stitch height. Thank you for suggesting this. For now, I just suggest experimenting. I will make a few test samples using different stitch heights and numbers and lie them side by side. Then I take what works and combine that into a test swatch. I have buckets of failed test swatches lol.

What do i do if i want to continue making the block bigger?

You can continue working the last round and your stitch count will automatically increase. The only thing with this method is it can skew your square as it grows. The other option is to turn your work after each round from the last round on and it would prevent the skewing.

You can block them, they are small enough I find they hold their shape nicely, so I did not, but I will be blocking them when I finish making a throw out of them. I usually block larger squares as they lose shape as they grow, but these little guys seem to hold up nicely.
