Janet finished recording Rhythm Nation. Album-Listens to the playback…No, something is missing. She goes in solely writes “Black cat” and it hits #1 on the Rock and pop charts. The only artist til this day to accomplish this.

Ok so I saw The Rhythm Nation Tour in Aug 1990, which featured this song. I was almost 18. It was a moment. I was so hyped. Then in 98 I saw the Velvet Rope Tour and I met her then husband Rene in the food area. He was just walking around and I said Omg that's Rene. So my friend was like no it wasn't. So I walked up to him and said are you Rene and he's like yes I am. He was so cool. In 2017 I won two sets of tixs to her State of the World Tour. I twisted my knee right before it, and I gave the tixs away at the last minute. I also can say that I've seen Micheal in concert twice as a child. I l❤ the Jacksons.

I went to that concert..notice Noooo cellphones recording and Janet Wrote and Produce this ALL BY HERSELF and was nominated Producer of the year for this song and The First Black women to do so and First Artist nominated in different categories at the Grammys for pop,R&b and Rock Janet Jackson is not to played with before people started hyping up Beyonce..Janet was Thee First to Do it..and she may do Contry One day or a Christmas song..but then critics would say Beyonce did it first or she trying to be like Mariah carey or something..but Yeah you haven't really seen nothing until u start reacting to more of her live performances I know u did Grammys live performance of Janet but there is much more like Rhythm Nation song live HBO Velvet Rope concert special

Thank you for apologizing on your underestimation of Janet Jackson in your book. Black Cat was a song she wrote and produced on her own and became the 3rd single to reach the number one position at the Billboard Hot 100 (out of the seven released from Rhythm Nation, the other 4 being "Miss You Much", "Escapade" and "Love Will Never Do Without You"). She is the only artist in the history of music to chart 7 singles from a same album (Rhythm Nation) in the Top 5 Hot 100. No other artist could ever accomplish that, not even Michael Jackson with Thriller, and the record is still holding today. Janet has been the victim of a set up which destroyed her career back in 2004 at the superbowl event. The Jacksons are not a welcomed family in the industry, and Janet has got too many high vibrations, high energy, high spirituality and positivity with a huge worldwide impact that doesn't match with the "satanic mediocrity" that the current industry wants to promote. Michael & Janet are the two sides of the same coin, or, if you want to take a "vinyl record" as a symbol, Michael should be SIDE 1 and Janet should be SIDE 2. There are no other sides ;) I was front row in Paris when Janet performed Black Cat live in front of me back in 1990 and that was a bombastic event I will forever cherish in my heart as well as represented my cornerstone under which all the other artists have been measured ever since. Please continue this journey because t's a delight to see the younger generation react to this masterpiece of an artist.
