bih kat I’ve come to realized this. Everyone is influenced..... Paula was a good Choreographer But you would be stunned 😳 at the unsung. Talent both MJ and his Entire tribe incorporated.... These people are disciplined I see Fela Kuti, Fred Astaire, Paula Abdul is also a great dancer 💃 but I wouldn’t site Her as the muse .... Janet’s five brothers Maybe influenced her 😻 (no shade to Paula
@shawnjones45275 жыл бұрын
Paula Abdul met Janet because she'd done some choreography for the Jackson's and her brothers thought so much of Paula's work and thought she'd work well with Janet and she choreographed 2 videos for Janet. No one can teach someone how to dance, they can show you the steps or choreography but you either have or you don't, just like singing. What's really interesting is that MJ has used many choreographers but no one has ever said any of them choreographers taught him how to dance and Janet's no different!

This album is I feel one of the most under-rated albums of all time. It has hit after hit and no fillers. Now so many years have gone by the social problems the album touches upon are still present and possibly worse. Sad that Janet became the fall girl after the Super Bowel performance. Timberlake was untouched which spooks me. This girl deserves a total second chance at the top pin. No one today could pull off a album like Rhythm Nation. Sadly I rarely ever hear the songs off this album on the radio. If your a young thing it's a must have album to key into.
@LYBism6 жыл бұрын
The album wasn't underrated at the time of its release. But you are right; I would say that now, it has disappeared from hearing pleasure, which is so sad because it is very iconic and the "conscious" songs are very much relevant today. Shame on the music industry for hiding this gem. JERKS!

leokimvideo If it's any consolation, I think this song (among Janet's best) is solidly in place among the classics that people still love to hear. When Joseph Gordon-Levitt danced to this on LipSync Battle, it was clear that the audience response to the song was just out-of-control (and props to Joseph for putting in the effort to learn the difficult choreography, although he must have danced to it too when he was still a kid). Bottom line: Janet is still very much a legend, Timberlake is not, and most likely will never be.

Iconic? Perhaps, but it just looks like a knock-off of Michael J's "robotic" staccato choreography, to my eyes anyway. Also, *very* distracting: makes it even _harder_ to try to make out the words she's singing if you're watching all that "twitching" as well! Actually, the whole song looks and feels like MJ, now I come to think of it … I expect I'm not the first person to say that, but this is the first time I've heard this song, or seen this video! But hey: if *you* enjoy it, then great! Just doesn't appeal to me in any way though, sorry.

❤️❤️❤️ she would have deserved more! Not all of this nasty press, smashing her reputation because of some simple mistakes or weight problems, which is so human...while her brother turned from a black handsome man into a fragile white women like fantasy figure, nobody really dared to question his transformation. Until today people believe he turned transparent due to vitiligo. I have seen people who really have vitiligo and MJ definitely didn't have it. I'm pretty sure, he would have shown it, instead of hiding. That would have been THE excuse for his changing appearance and I remember well, he didn't hide his health issues, because he "enjoyed", or rather needed the attention. Boy,I still have the paparazzi pictures of an overweight Janet in my head, jogging along the beach,hunted by her personal trainer...I felt so bad for her 🥺

Nester very few people actually want to put in that WORK. I grew up trying to do this video at home and it's pretty damn hard. Even if you get all the moves right, you get winded. The comments on this video are hilarious! Its Michael vs Janet which is insane because they loved each other and never had a jealous bone in their body about each others success. Michael once said that because they were so close, they often thought alike. Both came up with the military style but he let her run with it. There was no permission to give. You can be a Michael fan, w/o being Janet's and vice versa but battling them is ridiculous. Sure he was the King of Pop but don't act like Janet needed him to get where she was/is. Grow up people.

Micahel had originally planned to do this in his own music video, but Janet asked Michael if it was ok that she used the idea of dancing in an "army" style for hers. So that's maybe why so many say that she is trying to be like her brother, because it was something he had planned to use for himself. So it's pretty similar something Michael would have done. @thecrowrains10 жыл бұрын
TTUploads You're missing the point: Janet's older brother Michael INDIRECTLY influenced her music, choreography, and style all throughout her career. Hello, he is her b-r-o-t-h-e-r! While Michael was not in the video his familial influence has always been acknowledged and respected by Janet, whether indirectly or directly. Michael's career is highly respected by Janet. His success inspired her to perform too.
@dayg71510 жыл бұрын
thecrowrains But he didn't have a direct input in the choreography for this project. There's a difference.
@thecrowrains10 жыл бұрын
dayg715 Granted there is a difference: she is a woman, he is a man performing at his peak in the 80s/90s. You too miss the point = everyone today (2014) emulates Michael be it Justin Timberlake, Usher, etc, etc, etc! Michael HAD direct impact choreographically, musically, and stylistically. THAT is a fact. For christ's sake = he is her BROTHER. Michael may not have been on scene directly choreographing but he was directly in touch with Janet by mere fact of the aforementioned! The two grew up together! He influenced her directly! Look at it this way = you can ONLY assume he had no direct impact on her if Janet WAS AN ACCOMPLISHED CLASSICAL MUSIC VIOLINIST. Alas Janet is NOT a classical violinist rather she let Michael directly influence her in the genre Michael ruled in the Jackson family tradition = pop music. Be it her music, her tastes, her MTV music videos, e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! If Timberlake and all these other NON-familial artists had direct influence by Michael long after his death, so too did his sister when HE WAS ALIVE! They all copy him today! This video came out BEFORE instant internet media: No Facebook, no KZbin, etc. You KNOW Michael directly influenced Janet. He was the biggest icon of the 80s and 90s.
@dayg71510 жыл бұрын
You said he had direct input in the choreography in your original comment, and he did not. I never said Janet wasn't influenced by him, everyone knows that she was. But Michael did not have direct input on the choreography for this project. That was the point.
