If you're all wondering why they didn't offer her a seat, she more than likely requested this. Janet has been doing almost no interviews lately. She wants to just pop-in, promote the tour and get out of there before they start asking her intrusive questions about her divorce, family, etc. You'll notice she did this on Fallon and Sherri's shows as well. She's very much in control of her media appearances. If she wanted a seat, she would have had one waiting for her.

I noticed on Sherri she didn't take a seat, either. It seemed a little less awkward on her show, as she didn't have her back to the camera. I think they maybe should've rearranged the chairs so there was a gap for her to pop in and stand between so she could've had more of her face on the camera. Thanks for the further clarification!
