Staynlis Absolutely… Has anyone ever look at the writing lyrics and song credits to cherry pie he wrote everything… And I mean everything lyrics the song the whole deal… What does that say so when the guys in Warrant today are touring and playing all the songs that he wrote and making money..... thank you Jani
@otis2859 Жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right! He wrote absolutely everything! He was such a good guy that he even gave the other band member song credits, when it was solely him that wrote all the songs .. Personally I think it sucks, that yes they are still out there making money on all of his songs ! The rest of the band pails in comparison to him

I feel blessed to have seen Jani perform live with Warrant six times. Each time he always had a great connection with the crowd and kicked everyone's asses! He sounded great at this performance as well and truly seemed happy. I hope he has finally found the peace that he could not find here on earth. The greatest compliment I can pay to Jani is to pass his music onto my children, so they can know how rock music should sound.

Jani doesn’t kill his chords by being famous for a banshee screech. Axl can still sing fine, it’s the higher stuff he struggles with. I think he’s finally started shifting songs down so he can sing them without injuring his vocal cords again. But Axl also has an inhuman voice. Listen to IRS on Chinese Democracy. High as fuck. Each time I hear Jani sing this song it brings tears streaming down my face... I was 3 years younger than Jani but especially in the late 80's & early 90's I thought he hung the moon & stars, & truly believed there was nothing on earth he could not do... I had the privilege of seeing Warrant in concert in 1991 when I was 24 & knew EVERYTHING !!! I also had another occasion I was able to say "Hey" to this LEGEND, & got a handshake/hug it was incredible & something I will NEVER forget !!! I was at the time trying to work through losing my mother & this man, this poet, hell this genius gave us all this song, which ended up playing a pivotal role in my healing process... I will be FOREVER GRATEFUL for Jani Lane (May you rest in peace & party with the other GREAT ARTISTS who have gone before you my friend) but I will always cry over this song because it gave me courage again after losing my mom, & then it totally broke my heart when I played it for Jani after we lost him... I believe I will see you once again when it is my turn to leave this earth & I hope I get to talk to you a lot longer Jani & convey to you just how much you did for me while I was growing up... I mean I feel like I grew up WITH Jani, cause I was so stuck on Warrant that they needed to put me into rehab to get them out of my system... I listened to all the hot bands that were rockin it right in the 80's & 90's but Warrant was ALWAYS in my #1 slot... It was Jani Lane that was wallpapered in any & all empty spaces on my wall in my bedroom, I bought every magazine, every poster I could find, hell I still have my collection of Jani Lane "Rock Cards" I can't even try to lie & say I was not HOTT for his bod, I mean COME ON ALREADY, but it really was MORE than that, WAY MORE !!! his WORDS to so many of the songs he gave all of us fans mirrored things which happened in my life & I lived vicariously through him by following his career & what was happening with him... I married a long haired rocker type (not famous of course, but a damn good guitarist) & he shared in my love of the words that flowed through the songs, we had a week long honeymoon, & we jammed to Jani the entire week, alone, having a great time, Jani's music made Warrant what they were in their heyday, & that is not taking a damn thing away from the others because Erik, Jerry, Joey & Steven are ALL legends, AWESOME MUSICIANS all the way around, & the band did what they had to, to carry on, when the beasts began & continued to take this man a little more away from all of us over time, & when it got impossible to help Jani, they still cared about what was happening to their friend of so many years... & they needed to make some decisions about who would fill that spot (such a monumental task) & I am not taking ANYTHING away from Jaime St James OR Robert Mason by saying this, because they are also both AWESOME in their own rights, & I have seen & heard much from both before & during their time with Warrant, but THEY SHOULD NEVER BE COMPARED to Jani, I think he would have hated that concept... I think we should enjoy what others give us when bands we love move along & change in time, love the new additions, BUT respect the space they are trying to cover, because in all truth NOBODY will EVER fill the shoes of Jani Lane, they broke the mold when they made him, & now Heaven has him back, & we will NEVER see that exact talent ever again from any artist... I am happy for Jani he is back with his dad & mom & mine too, & I hope when my turn arrives I am welcomed into Heaven with this song playing because that would be the most perfect way I can think of to leave this world... Back to watch it again now, & THANK YOU SO MUCH to Bootleg Video Funhouse for posting this video... YOU F'KN ROCK !!! I am thankful that once we have an artist like Jani recorded, we have a part of them FOREVER... Swing It Jani !!!

It sounds really dark, but I've grown to know only the good die young. Therefore, they can continue their lives through other people. Jani is gone, but definitely not forgotten. He wrote some of the best songs of the "hair/cock rock" bands ever, he didn't deserve to be in the lump of people. He was a REAL songwriter. The songs on "Dog Eat Dog" say that. "Andy Warhol Was Right", specifically. He really put that whole scene in lyrics with that one. Honestly most of the mainstays on MTV, at the time, probably wouldn't even have cared, let alone knew who Andy Warhol even was.

I would sing this song to my babies when I rocked them to sleep. I can't believe he's gone. He is missed.

always sad to see someone who gave us music that brings back those "80'" memories...those were incredible years...the best in my life - it brings back memories of Clemson University, incredible Parties, and lots of Crazy LOVE! i hope that he passes over in peace...we lose so many incredible artists, way to early in their life...RIP...we will always remember you...
