Why is it that once you start listening to these fire 80's hits, you end up binging on all 80's music (no matter the genre 'cause they were all bangers) for hours on KZbin? Nothing and I mean straight up nothing will ever dominate the music, culture and fads of the 80's! So blessed to have lived and experienced the enlightening 80's. This 54 year old will always be an 80's child!

I was a kid in the 70s and a teenager in the 80s, man I'm telling you it was the best time to be that age. High school , girls, cars and rock concerts.and real friends.....we had it all. Even back then we felt the same about these songs as we all do now. Listening now, these songs bring back memories forgotten both good and bad, friends that are no longer here...but I wouldn't change it for the world. These songs shaped who we are today, and those of you in your 50s, you know exactly what I mean. If we could go back I know you would drop what your doing and get on that bus. Appreciate your memories and never stop listening to this stuff... its the soundtrack to our lives. Cheers everyone.

My mom met Jani at Hammerjacks in Baltimore, MD. She was sitting at a table with her friends when he walked by and accidentally spilled his drink on her. He felt so horrible and kept apologizing over and over. My nom smiled and assured him that it was okay. He still felt so bad that he ordered her and her friends a bunch of drinks on the house. He then sat down and hung out with my mom for at least an hour. He treated her with such kindness and sincerity. She said he was a true gentleman and it was a magical night. This was back in the early 90s. She said he was the kindest, most compassionate, loving man with a great heart ♥️

I've got a picture of your house And you're standing by the door. It's black and white and faded, And it's looking pretty worn. See the factory that I worked Silhouetted in the back. The memories are gray but man they're really coming back. I don't need to be the king of the world As long as i'm the hero of this little girl Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it everyday No matter what your friends might say How I love the way you move And the sparkle in your eyes There's a color deep inside them Like blue suburban skys When i come home late at night And you're in bed asleep I wrap my arms around you So I can feel you breathe I dont need to be a superman As long as you will always be my biggest fan Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it everyday (Ah, ah) No matter what your friends might say We'll find our way, yeah Now the lights are going out, Along the boulevard Memories come rushing back and makes it pretty hard I've got nowhere left to go And no one really cares I don't know what to do But I'm never giving up on you. Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it every day Ohhhh ohhh No matter what your friends say I know we're gonna find a way Heaven Whoah, oohh, ohhh Whoah, oohh, ohhh Heaven It's not too far away It's not too far away It's not too far away It's not too far away It's not too far away

FINALLY THE ORIGINAL VERSION! I’ve searched everywhere for this version which was the original version we all knew and loved as kids. For some reason there is this other version on Spotify and everywhere else on KZbin. Even when they show the original album it plays the other version. To most it’s subtle differences but to those who really know this song it’s a HUGE difference. Listen to the version they have everywhere else then listen to this version. Youll see what i mean. Thank you to the one who posted this.

Got a picture of your house And you're standing by the door It's black and white and faded And it's looking pretty worn See the factory that I worked Silhouetted in the back The memories are gray, but man, they're really coming back I don't need to be the king of the world As long as I'm the hero of this little girl Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it everyday No matter what your friends might say How I love the way you move And the sparkle in your eyes There's a color deep inside them Like blue suburban sky When I come home late at night And you're in bed asleep I wrap my arms around you So I can feel you breathe I don't need to be a superman As long as you will always be my biggest fan Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it everyday No matter what your friends might say We'll find our way, yeah Now the lights are going out Along the boulevard Memories come rushing back and makes it pretty hard I've got nowhere left to go And no one really cares I don't know what to do But I'm never giving up on you Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it every day No matter what your friends say I know it's gonna find a way Heaven Whoa-whoa-oh Heaven Whoa-whoa-oh Heaven It's not too far away, have hope Whoa-whoa-oh Yeah

the 80's and up to 1993, the power ballads reigned supreme. this is just one more example of the awesomeness of that era. don't get me wrong every decade had its own sound, but great music flowed like ambrosia during this time.

9 Years. Do you think he now knows how much he’s missed? How much he’s loved? Do you think he knows what an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, musician he was? Do you think he knows how his music made our hearts race and beat slow at the same time? Or how his lyrics helped so many people get through hard times, maybe even saved a few lives? Do you think he knows that his music is still played every single day on the radio? Viewed thousands of times on KZbin 30 plus years later? Jani’s death may have been ruled Alcohol Poisoning but some very tragic things took him long before the booze. I wonder if he knew that it would have been virtually impossible to kick his alcoholism with rehab alone without addressing the emotional trauma, PTSD, and mental health. Unfortunately, Mental Health was a taboo topic back then, especially for men, never mind a kick ass Rock Star. He tried to get through it the only way he knew, to numb it. The red flags and sadness are in the lyrics. I pray you found your Peace. I pray the person/people who broke you will pay the price someday. I hope your haunting the shit out of them! I will continue to donate to a Mental Health Charity for musicians in your honor every year at this time. I was beyond blessed to be a young adult in the 80’s and early 90’s. I was blessed to see you perform. There hasn’t been that kind of raw talent in rock, or any other music since then. Thank God for Hair Nation, streaming and KZbin. To all the young musicians out there, learn how to shred the guitar, drums, bass and keyboards. Although it most definitely will “offend” some people out there during these times, Go For It! Don’t let anything or anyone hold you back. Bring back real music! Thank you Jani for giving us everything you had to give, and then some. Thank you for sharing your heart, your soul and talent. Rest In Peace. Love and prayers to your family and your beautiful daughters.
