@@RamenAnytimeI got a pretty good one off amazon for roughly $20 I think, and I personally think it works great! It definitely dulls out the image quality slightly, but I think its all about what youre using the ipad for. I'm personally okay with that just because I use my iPad for school and writing and taking notes on my iPad and getting the glass screen protector just isn't feasible because of how the pen will slip, and the glare that would come off the iPad would be too distracting for me actually to write notes. However, if youre using your iPad for general uses a glass screen protector works just fine AND does not mess with the image quality (or at least to me) I've always had a glass screen protector on my phone and my old iPad and I think it works perfectly fine and I don't see anything wrong with the quality

I'd say it's good to do for any subject. Rewriting notes makes you recall things, which can help with getting info remembered. I do it and I am in middle school.
@rokayaahmed90554 жыл бұрын
I've been doing it since elementary and it's really my best tip for people. Just take messy notes with one pen and paper or type it, and then to review lectures you took today, you just have to rewrite what you wrote today on a notebook or tablet at home. Not only does it help you remember the information, but it gives you a chance to beautify your notes if you're into that, or even reorganize them. Besides, it doesn't actually take that much time, and on the long-term it saves you alot of revision time during finals.

A less costly hack - (and I think better study route - prove me wrong! :) A far less expensive route to paperless is a Rocketbook Everlast, your phone, and One-Note (free MS App) on an inexpensive computer - even a Chromebook running Android. Not only do I think this is a better system for taking and organizing notes, you carry less weight around, and it has a better feel to it for writing making it a much better experience, imho. Simply write your notes in Rocketbook, cross off the Rocketbook icon that you set up for a class/subject in OneNote, take a picture with your phone at the end of the day or week, and then organize your studying in MS OneNote. Don't carry your computer to class! The Rocketbook notes are erasable, so you can erase them as you no longer need them, but there are 32 pages so you can keep previous day/weeks notes for reference in class (much easier than dealing with a computer), until you are ready to erase them. When you get home after class your notes are all there, already in the subject area, and One-Note makes it easy to annotize them, convert them to text (if you want), highlight, draw, bring in web articles etc. as reference material etc. You didn't lug your computer around, you got notes to where they need to be, and I haven't seen anything that beats One-Note for note taking and organisation ... and its free.

I have a Rocketbook and I can say that it doesn't last very long. I noticed that after some time, when you erase your notes, it doesn't erase completely and sometimes the 'paper' gets slightly damaged, even if you're gentle. I still use it for notes sometimes though and it's definitely more affordable than an ipad :)

I think annotating is passive way of being an active learner. Because writing on PowerPoint slides shows that you’re not taking the time to read, and transcribe the information into your own words. I learned this from Study Less, Study Smart: What I wish I would’ve done by Med School Insiders on KZbin. Instead of PowerPoints stick to the note taking methods you usually do for synthesizing information. And also I suggest making summary sheets, as they can help you brief up what’s covered in the lecture. Hope that helps.
@DistractedTv5 жыл бұрын
this is what i love about the human experience because i have a completely different experience. i find that annotating pdfs help me focus more on what the teacher is saying and incorporating that into my notes instead of trying to scribble out what the slides say before the prof switches them since that can make me stop listening to the prof in order to write

The only issue with Microsoft for students is that when the school doesn’t have password reset recovery, for logging onto any app versions of Microsoft apps. Then a student can’t log in because of their password is not allowing them to access the app. This is why I prefer note-taking app that doesn’t require you to log in, but I still have to use OneDrive as they have 1TB of storage for students to use. I need to go back and have my password reset, when I go back to class the first week of September.

Onenote is free. What you said is relevant if you for some reason choose to use school id and stuff. Otherwise you can setup multiple recovery options. Another option is not to be stupid with your passwords either have it coded and saved in multiple locations or use same passwords for 95% of what you use except where you have your credit card saved(amazon, apple id, etc).

Because I can’t use my iPad in class to take notes I always do them in a paper, very compacted so I can later transfer them in one note or other apps so they are nicely clean and organized, plus I keep everything on folders and sync them on my laptop and my phone so whenever I want to study at school during breaks I just open up the notes to read and it’s way more efficient than carrying around lots of papers with horrible notes and bad handwriting. Also my power point presentations and assignments looks more neat digitally, but I had to ask my teachers first if they could accept the notes and summaries digitally. Most of them did. Fortunately this year bc of online classes they let me do everything digitally, even maths so I haven’t bought notebooks for class 😂 Also the Apple Pencil is kind of an issue bc I haven’t bought the anti glare/matte screen protector and it’s always slipping, tho I already adjusted myself at it since I’ve been using it for like two years now. I think that digital note taking makes everything more smoother, it lets me save a lot of time and I can handle my schedules and homework easily. It’s very handy, you can download your notes in PDF if you want to have them directly on your device instead of using internet to open them up, and it’s a more efficient way to be organized and productive.

I know there's some people that hand write their notes on paper and then they transfer it onto their ipads.. sounds like a lot of work, but you're actually helping yourself learn it better in the long run because you have to rewrite it and actually understand it at your own pace.

I totally understand why you would feel uncomfortable bringing your iPad to school. Of course, like BvggedLex said, you can handwrite your notes on paper (since it's essentially the same as writing on the iPad, just without all the digital-ness), and you can actually SCAN those notes from your iPad once you are home so you have a copy of your lecture notes on your iPad! I would do that, put the scanned notes side by side with your fave note-taking app and rewrite the notes from there.

Anette Castro record your lectures using a digital recorder (or voice record app on your phone) and then listen to the audio lecture when you get home and use your ipad to take notes as you listen to the audio. You can use your phone to take pics of anything notable on the ‘board’ and incorporate them directly into your ipad notes.

You can get a paper like screen protector. I use that for my iPad and it gives me the same satisfaction as writing on paper

I downloaded notability when it first came out years ago...then it was free. Now you have to pay for it, but I never had to anymore..

Can you make some videos specifically for nursing students? Maybe on some tips for studying for specific classes, videos on clinicals, etc. I love your videos and I’m starting my BSN program this month!

Hello! It was an excellent video. Can you please tell what is the storage option for your iPad? How long have you been using it? And how much storage have you filled up? I have recently purchased an iPad Pro 64 GB version mainly for note-taking and studying but already having storage anxiety.

Really you can have either a Mac book or pc. It doesn’t matter. But if you have to chose between a Mac book and a iPad Pro choose an iPad Pro, you can do computer stuff and iPad stuff all together on one device.

Is there a way to use the microphone and record lectures as you are taking your notes? I would think you would be able to go back to the lecture and correct or add notes that you missed. I do not know how well the microphone would be able to pick up a lecture as I have not received my iPad yet.

I have a question about your computer. Is it necessary to have an Apple computer in order for your iPad and the device to sync? I'm thinking about purchasing an iPad but I'm unsure about what computers will sync with it. I'm sorry if this was a dumb question lol I'm not very familiar with technology. Great video btw!

Hey, I know I am a month late, but if you download an app like notability (I've heard it syncs to google drive) or OneNote (which syncs to your microsoft account) it's pretty easy to transfer notes you take on an ipad to something like a windows computer.

If you get an iPad and a MacBook the only things you might be “missing” will be airdrop, iCloud and handoff, iCloud is like google drive so it is not a big deal. With airdrop and handoff is a bit different, airdrop is to send almost any file via Bluetooth (is very quick and easy) and with handoff you can copy and paste stuff from one device from another or open some apps in the other device, per se if you are looking something on safari on the iPad the safari app pops on your Mac if you click ir opens the same thing you’re looking at your iPad (also works with iPhone) or any other compatible apps such as pages, numbers, photos etc But you don’t need both devices to work, if you buy another type of laptop, you can still sync many stuff, the google apps will be very useful :) don’t worry ~ a lot of people believe Apple is a “closed” ecosystem but if you look for alternatives you can find very useful ones ☺️ Maybe my grammar isn’t good enough but I hope you get the idea of what I’m saying >u
