I love how real you 2 are! I can see the love you have for each other even with the daily struggles of marriage, family, work, etc.I was laughing when you talked about how we see the kids all happy at swimming but not the meltdown after! I think too often we see others on social media and think they have the perfect life! Your videos are so relatable! I tried dating a guy with kids and it was really hard. He was obsessed with his kids. He was depressed when they had to go back to their mom. My kids are my life but for me they were not an obsession. I ended the relationship and glad I did.

My favorite video was the one when Janie had punished one of the boys against the wall, Dave walked by and asked how long he had to stay on the wall and then Dave said he was going to see about it. A little while later, Dave came back and stood against the wall for 20 min he told the little boy! I laughed so hard! Discipline in a blended family is only an issue if one of you is at odds with the other's idea of what is acceptable and what is not and usually that only happens if one parent takes things too far. For instance if you are ok with the way your husband disciplines his two boys and your daughter than by default as long as he treats your son Peter the same and disciplines him in the same manner or to the same extent all should be fine and Vice Versa. Typically men discipline more harshly than women, typically boys will push the boundaries more with Mom than Dad and that is magnified in blended families if the two parents don't back each other up. IE if Dave comes in behind you and changes discipline you have given to his boys it is doubly damaging then if it was done to your daughter as the boys will then believe they do not have to listen to any discipline you give and simply wait till Dad comes home. You have to let go of "He's" mine "they" are his and "she" is ours mind set. You both have to agree on what is acceptable discipline and it has to be able to be given by either one to any child all the time. This ensures the children know they are all the same both when they do good and are loved and when they make mistakes, push boundaries, or act out an are in trouble or your upset with them.
