Such a huge mistake killing him off. Was without a doubt one of my favourite characters around that era of EastEnders. Steve John Shepherd is a brilliant actor, should've definitely left the door open for him to return.

@@callum5449I’m guessing that must’ve happened offscreen because I’m currently watching episodes on BBC iPlayer from 2011 and Ryan leaves in August which means he left our screens a year before he would’ve been legally permitted to petition for a divorce from Janine. Maybe it’s a case of laziness on the part of the writers back then, but with Ryan about to go on the run, that renders him untraceable for the purposes of finalising a divorce. I’m guessing that after the millions she inherited from her grandmother that Janine would’ve found some kind of legal loophole (such as spousal desertion) to have the marriage annulled in time for her wedding to Michael in 2012. Otherwise WTF!!!???

The actor who played Michael was brilliant, surprised that I haven’t seen him in anything else since, really thought he would break through . This was back when Eastenders was half decent. It had a few more average years with good parts. Jake wood aka Max is a brilliant character and actor

I have the clip of the Aftermath where Janine framed Alice for killing Michael (November 4th 2013) on my KZbin Channel. Just type in…. ‘Alice Branning - I Want To Go Home’ and you’ll find it. Won’t you believe it 10 Years Ago this month since this storyline aired, doesn’t time fly. I think the scene with Alice with screaming “I Want To Go Home!!” Needs to find a resurgence, the acting from Jasmyn Banks was incredible.

why did Alice stab Michael to save Janine? I mean Michael was the one she was with and supposedly loved and she knows how awful Janine is and also he was only strangling her for like a second and all Alice did before stabbing him was make a very weak effort to pull him off of her. so I don't really think this can be considered reasonable force when she Barely made an effort to resolve things none violently before she went straight to Stabbing Which could have Easily killed him.

Hey, so Micheal was sort of using Alice to get is final plot (his daughter scarlet) he was planning this for months to get Alice to guve Janine drugs and make it as if she overdosed so he could take scarlet and raise her. But Alice was withdrawing so that made his plan go off the rails. After Janine killed micheal she actually framed Alice as for stabbing him twice🤣 I don’t even blame her to be honest janine has always been misunderstood and called evil but she also did care about scarlet and just wanted her to be a good mother to her

even tho I Loved Michael's character this was a Baddass moment from Janine you'd never see other characters like phil or Jack or Ben take out one of their enemies like this but with Janine she has no Qualms and will kill when the situation calls for it. which is pretty funny as she's always just portrayed as a conwoman with daddy issues who the Square mostly just Treat like a bit of a nuisance when in Reality she's actually more Dangerous than most other long serving characters in the show including the local bald headed Gangster lol.
