It's a song about Afrikaans White Christian people claiming this land as their own. They talk about the "Republiek" which is a word not in use anymore, except for those who want the Apartheid Republic back. They link to the Solidariteit group, an organisation which is definitely not a white nationalist organisation, but who are looking for a solution to the "Afrikaner Poverty Crisis". Then it ends with the classic propaganda image of the blond boy representing the future (where have you seen this before?), coupled with a quote by Paul Kruger (a hero of the Apartheid regime). @@votsy97 Thank you for your reply. I did not know as a foreigner these things about South Africa and the Afrikaner Nationalist movement. I did not know Solidariteit. Are you a South African citizen ? or is it just very informed ? The little Blond boy, in a spirit of nationalist propaganda reminds me of Nazism in Europe. Paul Kruger was the President of the Transvaal Republic during the Anglo-Boer War, the Boers suffered from this defeat. The country's history is dark, the work of reconciliation between communities can take a long time.

@@votsy97 I think saying "claiming this land as their own" isn't the correct way to put it :). They say that white south africans are told our home is in the north, meaning Europe, and that we don't belong here, but were born here and we feel at home. I don't think they say in the song that SA belongs to white people. Secondly, Republiek means Republic.. and we are called the Republic of South Africa. So "Republiek" is just the Afrikaans translation and not meant in a racist way as far as I am concerned. I think the boy just represents our children who sees light in the future of SA, meaning they don't want to leave the country. I don't have comments on the rest of your thoughts.
