The fact that a player like this has yet to win a title above 500 level and has no round above QF at a slam just proves how luck and being in the right place at the right time is fundamental in this sport…

He could’ve earlier this year won a masters but he was struggling with injuries. Because of his injuries, he couldn’t go up the ranking spots and kept on facing top 3 opponents in the QFs and kept losing. Eventually I think he will have a breakthrough, most probably at AO 2023 and possibly win a slam next year

And it shines a light on how difficult it is to reach the champion's levels. Jannik is an amazing and gifted player, but now Carlos has made it even harder still for Sinner. This match was the best played by Sinner and Carlos just played brave tennis against ridiculous odds and not only managed to defeat Jannik, he went on to take his first GS title and is now the youngest #1 ever. Looking forward to more titanic clashes between these tow young guns.

I'm watching and then suddenly it shows Alcarez won the set but showed no points played. I would like to have seen the come back points. At least a few. It's as if this video was prepared by sinner himself. Actually I doubt he would just skip like that as the maker of this video did. People are strange

People are strange that doesn't read the tittle of the video or doesn't know how this tennis channels work. For more points of Alcaraz there is two highlights, one normal, and the extended one, that as always shows the points more focused in the winner of the match. The game was so epic, that this US Open channel in KZbin, made this video in order to show the Sinner points as per only get more balance in order to set that this game was a blast between both players.

Yeah, Sinner could arguably win during 4th set, he had a match point although he double faulted during that same game. Tennis is made of momentum and simply 5th set was Alcaraz's momentum, Sinner lost physical and mental condition in that same set. However I was glad to see such an outstanding match!
