Sinner plated at about 50% of his level. You can see it clearly in the highlights: most of the best points are from Tsitsipas, because he had to come up with the most incredible tennis just to stay alive in the match. Sinner barely needed winners, because his pace, consistency and (finally) serve were enough to win the game with ease. Absolutely brutal.
@patrikmarflak6559
@patrikmarflak6559 Жыл бұрын
No trouble for Sinner. Basically just needed to serve to Tsitsipas’s backhand to start every service point on top. Occasionally mixing it with an ace to his forehand, very strong service performance. And Tsitsipas didn’t have his best day on serve, Sinner’s returns are too good, together with his baseline game, powerful from both wings. Looking forward to his other matches.

If Sinner’s serve stays this strong, he can beat anyone. He really has no weakness outside of maybe net play. I hope over the off-season he focuses on rounding out his net game and slice a bit more to become a serious killer.

Eh, Djokovic is the ultimate constructor and he's beaten the whole world many times over. But as usual, Djokovic is probably the exception. In general I must agree -- Tsitsipas and Ruud have similar games in the sense of being mostly solid but not lethal, just not solid to the Medvedev level, let alone the Djokovic level. Sinner can do both construct and straight-up win, while guys like Alcaraz, Rune, and Shelton go for winners far more often.@@hassanshahzada9146

Sinner’s forehand is suitable for those who are slim in arms and legs. He uses his core trunk most to generate the angular motion and create the kinetic energy and his arms and hands are just the whip. And u can see his legs are very wide when hitting because his big motion may cause imbalance. U can say he and his team have found the best form and turn it to a great weapon

I've been following Sinner since the US open and the way he's playing both physically and mentally is scary good. Purely based on current form, he's my pick for the title, unless Djokovic comes up with a superhuman performance (which he usually reserves for the final week of slams, but it's possible) and Alcaraz regains his Wimbledon mojo (highly unlikely)

Not an unexpected result, as Sinner has been on a roll of sorts the last 8-9 months. That said, I was pleased to see Tsitsipas playing at a high level, and fighting pretty much to the end. For a while (6 months ago) I thought his career, in terms of being in the top 10, looked doubtful. And though he may not be a crowd favorite, he has lots of skill so good on him.
@FabriSlv

The most impressive part of the game was how Sinner seemed to barely even break a sweat, while Tsitsipas was playing out of his mind just to stay alive. Sinner got to a level that if he's fit, even most Top10 players are barely a threat at all to him. Today he didn't even need his usual winners, he just had pace, consistency, and serve, and all Tsitsipas could do was try not to die too quickly.

Djokovic' game is now held together by his mental toughness, experience and mastery of the tie break. This year his tie break percentage is absolutely stunning, winning approx 90% of them - it has won him many matches. But, if that percentage drops to 'only' ~65% (career average) he will already lose a couple of the tournaments he has won this year. Very unlikely he will repeat this year next year, especially with Sinner, Alvaraz at an even higher level.

@TheGreatDudist
@TheGreatDudist Жыл бұрын
@@PrivaBonito He's very good. I put him at #3 behind those two. I think earlier this year he was the best, but that's simply because he's so good while so young and he simply reached his peak and took the world by storm. But now everyone is learning how to play against him and he's finding victory more difficult. I think he's still got a promising future, but not like Sinner and especially Rune. Sinner is evolving his game every day and even a blind man can see that, despite already being at the top of the game, Rune still has a LOT that he can improve on. Whereas Alcarez gives the impression that what we've seen this year IS his best tennis. Maybe his muscles develop a little bit and he gets more experience, but I don't think he's got room to develop his game much more. Unlike the other two.

I think Tsitsipas is showing good spirit here but in my opinion, he needs to work more on his backhand which actually is a quite promising shot for him. At 0:23 he does the quite common escape backhand droppshot and at 0:47 he has a good opuotunity to drive his backand straight along the line but choses to slice it instead. He loses at least two of Sinners breakpoints because of failured backhand. From the end of the first set he suddenly shows what he can do with his backhand, probably because of instructions from his father to be more offensive from that wing. Sinner is, like Wilander predicted years ago, a player who at one or more ocassions is going to stand with a GS-trophy in his hands.
@ronnie9077
@ronnie9077 4 ай бұрын
Agree with the first timestamp. Second timestamp at 0:47, stef tries to hit an inside in forehand down the line to finish the point, but the pace and angle on the ball was too fast and wide for a slice so he had to change to a backhand last minute. There was not enough preparation time for him to hit a backhand so he went with a quick slice to stay in the point. So this was more of a positioning error, because his whole game is to try and set up the forehand. The slice ball by Sinner was really good it gave Stef no chance to make an effective run around forehand

Great match. A match won in straight set usually doesn’t have the amount of quality winners on both sides, fantastic watch. Tsitipas’s has been in really good form lately, but I think Sinner really is on his way to becoming an almost perfect combo. He’s got the power baseline game down but he has the tennis IQ and the calm and grace (especially under pressure) that recalls federer at his best. He doesn’t quite pull off the confounding winners fed did (at least not consistently but I swear I saw him pull out his version of SABR a couple of times on Serve return (though never using it with the tenacity fed did, when he was in top form, he’d win points with it on the spot). Great match, and unbelievable endurance and mental strength this season from tsitipas, win or loss, his play has removed the shadow his antics had cast and made a fan out of me this year.

Stefanos’s Backhand is a big weakness against the top guys, as they will always target and exploit it. That’s the only thing which is really holding him back, otherwise his net play approach and Forehand are top notch even though I don’t like him at all. I just feel that in the modern day tennis, One handed backhand is just not consistent or strong enough, a big reason that Roger struggled against Novak and Nadal’s two handed backhands. Still Roger achieved a lot with his one handed backhand, it is almost like a dying art.

Tsitsipas has improved a lot in his game. His problem is still the backhand. Because he has an amazing forehand, everyone is targeting the backhand now. He has to become unpredictable and improve his returns again. Sinner hits the ball very hard, almost uncompetitive, but the way Tsitsipas plays seems more attractive and charming to me

He needs to develop either a good topspin or slice backhand. His whole career he’s had neither and players have figured that out and use it as a reliable strategy to beat him.

Sinner hits the ball harder, which makes it faster and more dangerous than Tsitsipas' ball. Tsitsipas' ball is slow and not well cornered. His backhand is also slow and not dangerous, often lifting the ball too high, giving Sinner a chance to hit it hard in the corner and win easy points. Tsitsipas needs to be more aggressive and more hungry to win. I guess he needs a new coach if he really wants to improve, unless he's satisfied in staying between numbers 5 and 15.

Sinner's strategy of opening up the court on Sissy's forehand side so he could hit winners time and again seems to have worked pretty well here. I noticed later on Sissy tried to cover that up but that left his much weaker backhand side exposed.
