I had a Memory Craft 5700 since early 2000’s, and the hoops were stolen. I couldn’t replace them but still have the machine. I live in Western Australia. However the other day, I gave up looking for hoops for my 5700, and bought a second hand MC 9000! Now I’m busy buying up memory cards! I love and enjoy all of your instructional videos because I’m not very good at sewing. You are always so cool and collected when sewing. Thank you.

Think of sewing just like playing a musical instrument, practice, practice, practice. Read the manual and sewing books and practice. And keep on practicing. Your machine is your musical instrument and all your accessories and notions are your sheet music and accessories. The more you study and practice the better you will get. Take in-person sewing lessons as well. Sign up for sewing classes and retreats. And do not limit yourself to one genre of sewing. Practice sewing by making rope bowls. Here is my latest tutorial. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZXGaWOHjM2rb5I xoxo

I've had my 9000 since 2007 also and absolutely love it. It's done christening gowns, bride's maid's dresses, quilts and now bag making and machine quilting. Losing her would be like losing a best friend. Thank you for the demo on black button...never quite got the hang and you are the first person to demo it!!

That's exactly how I feel. Like I lost my best friend. My motherboard went out 10 years ago. I keep searching for one.

I love that you brought out your MC-9000! I'm the person you referred to about the motherboard going out. I'm so tickled that you read my comment and responded. I'm still hopeful that I will find something a motherboard. 💘 Love you and you take care too!

I used to own that machine. I traded it in for a Bernina years ago and I was sorry I did. Then I bought a Baby Lock and I have been so very happy with my Baby Lock. I do miss my Janome 9000. You are correct about the computer screens. Once companies stop making them for select older models what happens to the machines when all the mechanics still work? My vintage Singer is still working from 1950. No computer screen required.

😂😂😂😂😂😂Funny ending! Loved the New Home/Janome history,. I personally love vintage, mechanical New Home machines and newer mechanical Janome. I bet I would love that computerized one, as well. Thanks for posting this video. I am still hanging out indoors so slept earlier and awake this late hour digging your demonstration. Stay safe, Christopher! 😊

I just bought 3 Janome machines 1) MC9000, 2) 300e and 3) 350e. I bought from the family of the seamstress. I am very excited to upgrade from my Kenmore 36 to the MC9000. I am slowly working through the kinks. ex. had to replace the fuses - the touch screen needs to be calbirated (probably more as I go along) however your video showed me what this machine can do and encouraged me to continue the learning and replace/repair as I need to. It sews a great stitch and well worth the investment of this used machine.

I have a MC9000. Purchased it in 2000. It was used very little. I set it up as my dedicated ruler quilting machine. I have the extension table. This machine is the best for free motion quilting.

My MC9000 sewed thru 12 layers of denim! My machine ghost sews, now. I have shelved it. Mom gave me the machine when she upgraded. I used it 4 four years (no maintenance) quilting Free Motion, it takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’. I get it out when I make a label for my quilts.

great video thank you I have a janome MC 10000 the top rod is really stuck fast very hard to turn , I looked at everything and it seems as the top is jammed or something, could you tell me is there a consistent problem with these machines something to steer me in the right direction to repair it, also the repair manual lacks any info on this problem?

Glad you stopped at 32 duck layers. I had/have a memory craft 9000. Loved it. Was sewing duck canvas pants lined with sweatshirt material for a grandkid - when I sewed the flat felled crotch there was an alarming clunk and the digital display moved a couple of cms to the right. Not the physical screen, just the display. It works if I press where the icons would have been before! Had it serviced 2x no joy. Have a new Janome Horizon with a 6mm foot. I love it not..... Stay safe all☺

There is an easy fix to recalibrating your screen. Someone did a YT on it. I will try and find the link for you.

@@mcrogerr0ck Oh, thank you, thank you Marie, My new Janome is huge and clunky. The old one does amazing buttonholes, but is an adventure finding the right place. I am in New Zealand.

What is your tension setting? Mine keeps jamming when I try to put through thicker stretchy neoprene fabric. There isn't much in the manuals as to how to adjust for this.

Hi Christopher- I bought a great MC9000 second hand (I paid Aus$250!) - its lovely but the touch screen has become non-sensitive sometimes. Worried its going to go soon. I'm in Australia- would love the name of the dealer in NSW to see if I can get the replacement glass screen- the computer screen itself is still bright and clear. Thanks for all this info, love your work!!

I have had my Janome 9000 since 94 and it has been a workhorse, unfortunately, when I was making so many masks for COVID 19 now my Janome is having major issues, it is giving me an ERROR message "ERROR cloth too thick, check needle bent" I am not sewing thick cloth and I have changed needle several times NEW needle and different sizes. If anyone has this happen and has found the cause please let me know, thanks

Love this machine!!!! BUT unfortunately the belt moving the embroidery arm up and down is now out off the machine. Nobody seems to know the number! Could you or somebody please look in the machine? (You only have to unlock the cap below the machine...it is the one with only 2 screws to hold it. If that is open you can see the number on the belt. Would be very nice :-) So I can order a new one and fix this fantastic machine!! She is worth it!!
