Well done, Christopher. No one should ever have any issues using their machines after watching your videos.

thanks.. this was clearly explained on what I'd been doing wrong. (push/pull) wondering if that's what puts my timing out of whack so easily (singer 626, ultimate novice) . tired of shelling out for repair while I hardly sew much, and it gets discouraging so easily. *will dig further; I was almost ready to quit & sell off the machine..thanks for accessible, explained descriptions.. now; to learn to reset the timing ..

Christopher can a hump jumper be used with a commercial walking foot machine? Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

This is a great video, Christopher. I exceptionally liked it because you were using the knee lift for your presser bar (so many people who own machines with that feature are amazed when I show them how to use it) but you also explained the leveling button (most sewing machine owners do know what that does - but those are people who do not read their machine manuals or take the new owner classes which my shop offers for free). 👍🧵

Great video Christopher! I especially like your comments at the end about cheap plastic machines. They have no backbone and just can' t do the job. I'm strictly a vintage fan and let me tell you my Singer 201 and 99 can't stomp over denim belt carriers without a whimper!

Do you have any tips for when sewing a couple of layers of fabric, but the top layer shifts gradually as you sew? I'm new and I've found if I sew a long edge the top fabric starts bunching because the dog feeds are moving the bottom fabric but the top fabric is somewhat held in place by the presser foot, so the top fabric doesn't move as fast. I'm just not sure how to fix it without pulling the fabric at the back so it is taut, but you said you shouldn't ever have to pull the fabric.

👍Sometimes there’s a plastic tool you can layer this plastic tool to reach the height of the thicknesses. I use a jean needle and longer stitch like you 3.5 no problem. I also use this plastic thingy they look like a plastic ruler about 3” by 1l wide you put behind the foot to equal the height of say ex 6 layers of fabric.this also works if you have no black button on the foot. Gene a mig is one such tool but some are shaped like your muslin piece ya have only on a key ring with 3 pieces each one same thickness.
