Jantzen Beach Big Dipper recreation - NoLimits 2

Big Dipper operated at Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon, from 1928 to 1969. It was designed by Carl E. Phare, who designed the wooden roller coaster at Playland in Vancouver, British Columbia. Big Dipper, which was 55 feet tall, opened with the park and closed a year before the park closed for good.

Oh, I always wanted to ride this coaster. My folks would drive from Aberdeen to Portland to visit their friends, and we would always pass Jantzen Beach on the right, Portland Meadows and Waddles on the left going south. "Someday can we go ride the roller coaster?"

I have many rides logged on that coaster. If the creator of this animation added an "Aerocar" flying around , they'd have nailed it. Back in the late 50s and early 60s it was not unusual to see Molt Taylor in the air with his "flying car." Probably the only ACTUAL flying cars that have ever built and sold in the U.S. or the world for that matter. 🙂

@@moogooguypan2514 There's an excellent Facebook group called Defunct Wooden Coaster Archives. They've got photos from hundreds of woodies. It's excellent and my main source for recreation photos and videos.

Hello my dear, I have a question for you... Can you do a re-creation of Dorney Park's Thunderhawk with the original layout?

I have thought about it, but I haven't checked to see if there are enough photos of it. I don't recall the original layout even when waiting in line for Thunderhawk.
