The people who disliked this medley just don’t know good music. They wouldn’t be satisfied no matter who played what. I remember during the 1960’s when you couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing some of Bert Kaempfert’s songs playing. He was one of the most popular orchestra leaders at that time! All of his orchestra members were very talented besides Manfred Moch. Another particular member was Ladi Geisler, who was his bass guitarist, that popularized that unforgettable bass sound on a Fender Telecaster Bass Guitar. Some of Kaempfert’s musicians also played for different orchestras such as James Last, Kai Warner, and Roberto Delgado. Kaempfert wrote and composed many popular songs that were recorded by different artists such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Wayne Newton. Like I said earlier, his sound was very unique and very popular during the 1960’s. To me, his music is timeless!

Fred Moch did regret his decision as he stated in previous You Tube interviews. Not for us to dispute, this is also a music "business" and all parties have their concerns to evaluate. I loved Fred Moch's beautiful solo trumpet work as I also loved Charly Tabor's but that's another story. Bert Kaempfert is the genius who created so many wonderful compositions and recordings and his name (along with Herbert Rehbein) will forever resonate with the imaginations in musical joy and on occasion remorse.

I don't know why but the way that gorgeous woman says Mr hit maker has been in my head for two years and I need to watch her say it every so often
@Solitaire-MusicCulture9 жыл бұрын
+MrMustacrackish 'That gorgeous woman' is Vivi Bach from Denmark, who made quite a career in West-Germany in the 60s until early 70s, as a singer of the so-called 'Schlager' (popular German hits) and as an "actress" in harmless, post-war feel-good movies. The TV-show of this clip was a hit television show (late 60s until 1972) in West-Germany called "Wünsch Dir was", which had astronomical rating figures on a Saturday evening (it was a 'street sweeper', because everyone was glued to their TV set instead of going out). They had the biggest international stars on. She hosted the show together with her husband, famous Austrian-German actor Dietmar Schönherr, standing next to her in this clip. You might be attracted to the sound of her voice/words because she spoke German with a very heavy and distinctive Danish accent, which many (German) people find cute and funny. And some men find it particularly sweet. -- She deceased in 2013, her husband followed her in 2014.

I've been in love with his Swingin' Safari since I was nineteen and listen to his album when I want to get perky or cheer up. Great orchestra and compositions!
