January 2022 Budget & Cash Envelope Stuffing

It's the start of a new year and along with that, the start of a new year of budgeting. Just before Christmas, I purchased a new budget binder from Wish.Com. Previously I had been using either paper envelopes or plastic baggies, but they weren't really working for me because it just took too long at the checkout and they would get ruined quickly. I want to do better in 2022 when it comes to my cash-only budget, so I thought I'd share with you what I'm doing this year to help make cash envelopes work a little better for me.

You're looking well. Do you go into the bank to get the smaller notes? I wish our ATMs would let you choose large or small notes. 😂 I am trying to use more cash but a lot of places here in QLD prefer card only. I use excel for my fortnightly budget.

Thank you :-). The bank branch that I go to has an ATM and another machine that allows you to convert notes and coins. So that bank doesn't have to be open to get smaller notes. I always have a little chuckle inside when the cashier gets the EFTPOS machine ready to accept card and I hand them cash, they look at me like I have two heads hehe.

Oh that sounds like a great bank. I was going into clubs to use their note changers to get $20s and $10s since pokies don't take $50 notes and I don't get questioned on my cash habits. 🤣
