Super happy to hear that you really liked Blue Period! Always looking forward for a new volume to come out. You were so right about My Love Mix-up! I enjoyed reading it more that I thought I would, love the little comedy elements in the story. Also got my introduction in over the top randomness of Jojos as I completed the part 1 on SJ app. Looking forward to hopefully finish atleast part 2 this month inbetween watching the Olympics.

I'm so happy that you are getting into audiobooks. They are underrated. Something that I love that is just now starting is audiobooks for light novels. Only a few have them and YenPress is pioneering this movement at the moment. A few light novels that have audiobooks are Overlord, Monogatari, The Rising of the Shield Hero, and I don't know how you feel about Sword Art Online but they also have audiobooks. I'm personally really happy about all of this and am really wanting to get into Overlord and The Rising of the Shield Hero. There are more like Solo Leveling and others. Also, I don't know how you feel about dub but most of the voice actors who voiced the characters in the anime read for the audiobook! For example, Bryce Papenbrook, who voices Kirito narrates the first and second audiobooks with Cherami Leigh narrating for Asuna. Also Luci Christian does some kids audiobooks. Sorry, I'm just so happy to share my little obsession with someone else and that there is finally a fusion of two things that I adore.

So I read the first volume of Blue Period then switched over to the anime and honestly kinda enjoyed the anime a bit more than the manga. I feel I must be an outlier but something about the voice work and music really worked for me. I liked the manga I just really liked the anime. My Dress-Up Darling I read the first volume and realllly did not like it then I tried the new anime and felt completely different about it. It felt vibrant and so full of character. I am not sure what happened there but maybe sometimes anime can just communicate things that manga cant and vice versa. Great updates Tsukki and hope you are recovering well!! - Jerry

Honestly I found 10 Dance really frustrating. They are two very “straight” men who fall in love. I read I think up to volume 6 and this is still the angle. I don’t really know how to explain my frustrations without spoiling the story, but I don’t appreciate the angle. I could understand denying that they have gay feelings for each other, but it feels like that really isn’t what the author is going for. Maybe I am just confused in general. Either way I dropped it despite loving the art and the sexiness. I’m curious to hear your thoughts as you read further along. Sasaki and Miyano is really adorable as an anime. I think the voice acting really sold the romance for me!

I enjoyed this video and I am always looking forward to your videos. This video like always was super fun to watch, and I am really enjoying the reviews of the anime´s you have watched at the end of the manga reads videos. Thought there is something I do want to mention. When you showed Tokyo Tarareba girls, you said it was mature, so it is definently NOT a shoujo series, and that is a statement I would say is kinda annoying to hear at this point. Though you are not wrong about Tarareba girls, but the whole mature = Josei. Mature themes in shoujo is nothing new. There has always been mature themes in shoujo, and there is this misconception that just because a series has mature themes it should be considered a Josei, which is stupid. There are so many young girls that experience traumatic stuff at a young age, and acting as if just because a story deals with mature themes, it could never be a series for young girls to handle. Nana is a perfect example of that, I don't really know why that would be considered Josei by people,, when it is litterally in a shoujo magazine and it is classified as a shoujo. Requiem of the rose king, 7 seeds, laughing under the clouds, yona of the dawn and more has mature themes but that wouldn´t make them a Josei or a Seinen series. There is literally shoujo series where people get skinned alive, so I would not say that mature = Josei or Seinen.
@tsukkinotes2 жыл бұрын
i think the whole concept of demographics is kinda dumb within itself, it’s mainly used for marketing since anyone can read any series,, and i apologize that my wording was frustrating, i’m aware that there are more mature shojo series like nana, banana fish, etc just in the context of tokyo tarareba girls the characters are working woman in their 30s and there’s casual sex in the first volume and higashimura is a famed josei mangaka and this was just my rapid fire little thoughts on the series,, i’m not trying to sound super defensive if my writing comes across like that but i appreciate your comment, definitely valid, i hate when people generalize my favorite genres like sports manga so i’ll be more careful with how i say things in the future ❤️
@butter_fly35392 жыл бұрын
@@tsukkinotes Yeah, totally agree with the whole marketing thing, but demographics are still very much valid in Japan, so it may be dumb outside of Japan, but not so much in Japan. (Though I do agree that the demographics are kinda stupid. Whenever we get introduced about shoujo in an anime series, it is always lighthearted and cute series, when in reality that is not always the case, so people could definetly be confused about what type of shoujo series exists.) Glad that you are aware that there are mature shoujo series, but I was not frustrated with you talking about the Tarareba girls (Josei) and it having mature themes, it was just the statement that it could not a shoujo series (because of the mature themes), at least that is how it came off in the video. Though now I know that is not what you meant, so thanks for responding and explaining. Also you do not come off as defensive, you are just explaining what you really meant. Another thing, you litterally had eye surgery, so it is not like you will be in the best shape and plus you were just giving you rapid fire thoughts, so totally understandable. Hope you feel better throughout the weeks and all. 👍👍👍
