Wow! I didn't realize how many times I mentioned anthrax. I hope the feds aren't watching me now... I appreciate the shout out, but I'm happy to do it. Books have been so important in my ridiculous life and when I encounter people who enjoy the same or similar reads, it brings me as much joy to give as buying them for myself. I'm just glad you like the books. I'm on my 10th book for January because I don't leave my house. 😬

Love hearing someone talk about Mieville! I’ve read Embassytown and Perdido Street Station and was blown away by both of them. I’ll have to pick up The City & the City!

I read "The City and The City" years ago. I got a East Berlin/West Berlin vibe to it. I have also read "The Last Days of New Paris" that book was wild.

I read Perdido, and then immediately read The City & The City. I enjoyed Perdido, but I LOVED The City. I thought The City was fascinating - it sort of gets to the idea of "compartmentalizing" your thoughts, perhaps? The end scene is stunning. Architecture, urban planning, and behavioral sociology all rolled up into one. --- Clive Barker is an author I hope to get to soon - I bought Imajica.
@EricMcLuen3 күн бұрын
Agreed Barker's short stories are often better than the novels. His artwork is also just bizarre. I don't recall Inhuman Condition but will read a story out of the Books of Blood just for a quick break. Do recommend the film Midnight Meat Train with an early Bradley Cooper, creepy Vinnje Jones and even Brooke Shields.

Your audience is not mainstream. Give us more weird books, give us more unsettling books. Give us more outstanding videos like the one you’ve made for House of Leaves and we will praise you like a new prophet 😉 more China Miéville and PKD please!

I will finally start with Sun Eater soon. Very likely in February. I am excited. But first I am finishing Memory, Sorrow and Thorn. Starting the last book today. You have now already caught up to me in Malazan. I finished House of Chains a few days before your review (the Malazan reviews were how I found your channel), but I am taking my time with this series and it will be a while until I pick up the next. I love it, it is great, but is also a lot and I need to space it out to enjoy it.

I will say that the first sun eater book is definitely the weakest, but boy, it's only up from there.

Thank you for the video. How do you manage to read so many long books in a month? Do you have a specific routine, like reading 2 hours each evening or something like that?
@rammelbroadcasting3 күн бұрын
I almost always download the audio version of the book I'm reading and then when I'm driving or doing chores I listen to the book. Then when I read in the evenings or at work or just in my down time I read physically and just pick up where I left off. You'd be surprised how fast you move through a book.

@@rammelbroadcasting Thank you for your response, that makes a lot of sense. I often download an audio version for longer books too as it would take me way too long to read them just physically. Many thanks for your great content and have an amazing day! :)

I have 80 pages left in Demon in White and my God Ruocchio can write. It’s honestly insane how good he is.
