Presumably similar to the Broughs that the great Ted Baragwanath raced so successfully at Brooklands. By all accounts, what he didn't know about JAP engines wasn't worth knowing! He was a brilliant engineer.

@@TheOTvideos sorry _a_ bike or precisely this one ? I think this was point aimed at. It looks like fresh from the dealer and never had a deep core test in a rainstorm. But trust me, anyone seeing it WANTS iT. Me rode a 1961 M100 Panther and it went in daily use (incl.⛈🌧) and weekly shopping.

God dammit that chain on the left side of the engine is so close to your trousers and shoe lases it is scary to think about the consequences when the fabric gets caught in there and drag your feet into the the spinning metal parts

What is that thing on the side of the engine?
@PortCharmers5 ай бұрын
Looks like it's got a Roots-compressor fitted (the black thing in front of the engine that one of the scary-close-to-the-foot chains goes to). The thingy above it is a massive carburettor, and there is some massive piping leading the mix into the cylinder heads.3

Seems to me like he’s doing things properly. Carefully nudging it over compression to avoid kickback, then giving it a proper kick to put some momentum into the crankshaft. Unless I’m missing something that’s how I would do it too.

You can always spot an amateur rider by the way they drag their feet .. or hover them .. when taking off. They're not confident in their own riding abilities, so that one foot stays on the ground until they get some serious speed. Then, once they slow down, the foot goes right back down on the ground ~ their "security blanket" ~ dragging along the ground or hovering just above it. He did the turn-around "duck-walking" the bike with both feet. He's green as hell.
