There's an even easier way to do it: 1: delete all units 2. ask for divisions from manchukuo and mengkukuo 3. fire civil war the expeditionary forces won't return during the civil war and the fascists won't get any troops so you can just steamroll them

Challenge idea As Costa Rica, conquer Switzerland. You can go communist but can't join nor create a faction. Whether it is due to its status as a neutral country, or because of geography, Costa Rica is often known as the Switzerland of Central America, so why not join them?

Well to be fair to the poor guy he was actually decent for a Monarch all things considered. Yes he still shares war guilt, I don't make excuses for the guy, but he was very pivotal in securing a Democratic Japan after the war, so I'm not too critical with him considering how much trouble he could have been had he wanted to be.

@@Ludovicus1769 Yeap, and he renounced his status as a "God" just to make it clear that his people needed to move on into the future. It's difficult to imagine what it must have been like to live with the horror of watching his country descend into madness, and then to watch it burn all around him. Strange as it sounds, I think he wasn't that great an Emperor before all that, but he became one after, in desperation to do whatever he could to help his people who suffered so much.

I love the concept of the democratic Japan route but i feel it's pretty underwhelming: I love the idea that unlike the Allies that play at the defence and try to avoid war until they are rearmed Democratic Japan its a aggressive Democratic Crusader that literally "force others to govern themselves, by force!" and also you create a true bening form of the Great Asia Co-prosperity Sphere that truly wants to end colonialism and a Asia for Asians. It's really doesn't have something special that make it unique. The Pacific Guardian focus sounds cool but its just free puppets, you can't decolonize tem that its supposed to be the goal and freeing The Philippines its a waste of time. It would make it more interesting that it have a focus to have six or even seven research slots and more research speed specially electronics (since you know, Electronics = Japan) to encourage you being a technocracy and having another unique focus that let you build capital ships with a max of 10 or even 15 dockyards like pre-Man the Guns to compensate the civil war and not having the resources of China. And another focus to get a "nice" versions of indoctrination like a new bushido that encourages treat prisoners and people well, be lawful and respect the geneva Convention and sacrifice yourself for you country, for democracy and free others of oppression to get extra man power since you don't get any extra manpower unlike if you go fascist or communist. And the best idea i think it's a focus that in truly democratic crusader fashion instead of conforming with liberate Asia you demand the Allies to end their colonial empires they obviously say no and this starts a democracy vs democracy war to end West colonialism once and for all. Plus to even the odds gain the ability to start democratic revolutions like Trosky does in all no democratic or colonial countries.

Isnt the ultimate deterence focus really good? As Japan you can get a nuclear advisor wich boosts nuke tech by 15%, plus the focus 20% and researching all the computer tech gives -25% research time. Those should make it really easy to get nukes fast

Taureor, about USA that is "too far" - you can try and begin war with them in 1936 - it is possible to land in Alaska, and then go to Seattle ( I've done this two times, but it is quite difficult and requires a lot of micromanagement)

You can get military access from Italy and invade the Netherlands right away as Japan, which is silly but would get you DEI. Not needed for democratic path but worth keeping in mind. This is a pretty comical way to win civil wars lol.

Satelliting the germanys was the right move, if yalta's happened then east and west will get established regardless and major border gore can happen if you don't expect it. I managed to get a situation where there were 5 Germany's in existence at the same time (republic of, 2 west germany's, an east germany and the german empire), almost none of which actually had cores in their own territory (the west germany based in austria, yes that happened, was the one with cores in west germany, the republic of germany based in east prussia also only had cores in west germany, the west germany in west germany didn't seem to have any cores at all so as a redult civil wars with the empire (which also had no cores) would happen. I may have created a 6th germany, maybe another republic, via trying to coup east Germany. It got confusing until the end of ww3...
