Watching Via slowly get more confident in Japanese is so inspiring! It really makes me want to learn a language. I’ve been wanting to try learning Korean or Japanese, but I’ve been nervous. Via is def pushing me to try though 😅

@@via.ilyouu I’ll definitely try it out! The only thing I really have access to rn is duolingo, and I don’t really know how efficient the app actually is. I can give it a shot anyway though! 🙃 If you had any suggestions for language learning apps other than duolingo, I would appreciate the help 😅😭

As a Japanese who can understand Korean, I’d recommend Korean over Japanese if you really want to master the language. Unless ofc if you want to travel here you’d want to know a bit of Japanese. It’ll take you years to fully learn Japanese writings, specifically Kanji. So you’ll continue to struggle with reading. Whereas you can learn Korean (Hangul) in like an hour if you try hard. And if you learn Japanese after Korean it’ll be easier bc some Korean words are same as/similar to Japanese words. Good luck!

Japanese here! I know it doesn’t help when you’re anxious but I literally wanna reassure you so bad that in Japan you’re never a nuisance to people. People who work in shops/restaurants take their job really seriously and they like to help you🥺 So just ask! Even in English is fine! Also your Japanese is really decent! You’re so pretty and intelligent, have confidence in yourself! Next time you come I would absolutely love to show you around🥹💖

Girl, the giggle I let out when is aw that you posted😭 love you and your vidoes fr. They are very motivational. Like I genuinely had a fear of doing things on my own (because I am a scardy cat), everything I do, I take one of my sisters with me. But your videos have been motivating me to try and do things on my own, and to so things for myself. Like idk how to put it exactly but your videos really helped me a lot. Like yeah I share the same like what was the word again? Like way of thinking, but I have trouble acting on it. But your video have been tremendous help. So thank you for posting, making my day and teaching me important life lessons. I hope you have a great rest of your day:) with love from a random teenager

I think it's so real being able to admit the moments you're scared. Ive been learning Korean for a long while but on and off, and I eventually want to plan a trip. I'm excited at the idea of traveling but because of my anxiety I'm already scared in advance that I might not be able to speak the little bit of Korean I do know when the time finally comes. There's nothing wrong with being scared, its good when you can admit it, and even better when you can feel proud of yourself for finally mustering up the courage!

So cool! I am a lot older than probably anyone here. I live overseas now - retired - from the U.S. I am super inspired by your bravery traveling by yourself. I moved overseas, by myself - with my two cats. I've lived here now for about 3 1/2 years and am STILL working on the language. It's a very difficult language to learn! (especially when you're older and have only ever spoken English) I feel your pain in your previous video when you were afraid to speak Japanese! You CAN do it though! 🙌🏽 ❤ You are making me really want to visit Japan. It looks SO beautiful and I know I would love the food and all the temples and outdoor spaces. ❤

I have been going through your journal entries series these past few days and it resonates so much with me right now. Sometimes things have a way of finding it's way to you in just the right time. Even though I know I am not alone in these experiences having someone vocalise them is so powerful. I am feeling that my life is out of my control for years but just watching you made me things start to sink in and started a over reflection on my life, where I am, who I am and what I want my future to look like. There are so many things in this world to enjoy and why am I not allowed to experience them? was the biggest question. I missed the person I was 2 years ago, that were very aligned with themself and their emotions, someone with drive, hopes, dreams and big aspirations. And realizing how far away from that person I am now made me sad and angry at myself. But that kind of grief I think is the first step to actually change something because I have authority over my life, and how I treat myself. Think you for just vocalizing things I've been sitting on for a while. Much love

omg bestie I am so proud of you for travelling so far by yourself like this! Iliterally got back from my first international solo trip last week and I went all the way to China from the UK! It's so hard trying to psych myself up to go into a shop or cafe or restaurant and try to speak in Chinese (I literally know barely any Chinese), but it is so rewarding when you do! It's so nice seeing you get more comfortable speaking Japanese and doing things by yourself even though it feels super awkward to do. you got this hun!!! And anyone else who is scared to do things or travel alone, just give it a try! The worst that can happen is some momentary embarrasment, and the satisfaction of trying definitely outweighs that. 😘🥰

Currently I'm preparing for my final exams and your vlogs help me to relax!! Also I'm proud of you that you're stepping out of your comfort zone ( I struggle with social anxiety as well so I acknowledge how hard it is sometimes to do it). What helps me with being more confident and less wired is to ,,think less and act more"- personally instead of overthinking ( which usually makes me only more nervous) I just try more and more to do things-talking to someone, going somewhere etc- before my brain starts to work too much .And if I do it for some time, I stop feeling as wired, even I can relax and think like...wow, actually this situation, or doing certain thing is so normal. I hope I helped
