Edit: My tyres were actually 35mm, not 32mm as stated in the video. 35mm Mondo tyres are my go to. They’re just as fast as the 32mm and with added confidence in wet roads and corners 🔥

Congratulations. Amazing ride. Noticed you changed your saddle option from Romin(Aethos) to Phenom. Would you please help to make a comparison of these two models and maybe Power as well? Thank tou.

@@jackultracyclistofficial just been working out yesterday whether to change down my chainring for the Taiwan KOM but chose not too. 10/36 and 48/35 chainring. new route not too steep apart from top part. so hence the smile at yours.

Thank you for the video. I purchased an Aethos and really wonder if I should have gotten the Roubaix to smooth out the bumps. Not many Roubaix's around so can't even find one to test ride and compare.

Aethos is still a beautiful bike, but if the roads are a little more harsh, the Roubaix is a great choice 👌🏽

I run this same rig for the majority of my road and light gravel rides as well and absolutely love it - largely for all the reasons you mentioned. Random question - what Garmin Varia mount is that? I can't seem to find a solid one and that one looks great.

Great bike, stoked to hear you’re on one too 🙌🏽🔥The mount is made by a mate of mine, Taylor, over at @concentriccycling - neat solution 👌🏽

Nice bike! I ride a 21' Roubaix sport and have enjoyed riding it the past 3 years. I want to upgrade to a 25' Roubaix comp for the larger tire clearance and electronic shifting. I'll also get some fast carbon gravel wheels.

Hell yeh, you’ll love the capabilities of the new Roubaix. Stoked you’re enjoying the Roubaix platform 🙌🏽🙌🏽

What a performance! Why do you opt for the 56cm frame size? looking at the size chart you're well inside the 58. Looking to buy a Roubaix myself and am the same length :D
@jackultracyclistofficial2 ай бұрын
Thanks mate 🙌🏽 I’ve got quite good flexibility, so the 56cm allows me to get a little lower at the front end. But If I was a less flexible lad, I’d definitely go for the 58cm. Hope this is helpful!
@kiki-ig8fqАй бұрын
i'm the exact same height and panicked a bit when i heard the frame was a 56 so was looking frantically in the comments for some validation that the 58 I went with was fine - glad I found this, thanks OP and thanks Jack.

I am 187cm, i have got a roubaix sl8 58. I am not that flexible so, after a retul bike fit i changed the stem for a 60mm long, it should be 60 to 80mm, i prefer the shorter to be more confortable.

Kudos, still blows my mind how you can put in 500 km each day! How often did you have to rewax your chain with Squirt? You are the second ultra cyclist I know to mention using Squirt as an on-the-go wax. That kinda goes against my own experiences, for me it barely lasted 100 km in the wet before the chain got noisy. How well does it really hold up for you?
@jackultracyclistofficial2 ай бұрын
Great question. I applied the squirt twice per day. When it was wet, I had to apply it more often, but the difficulty then, was that it didn’t really ‘dry’ on the chain. In an ideal world I’d have a newly waxed Cyclowax chain every 250km!

Shame that you need to emit so much co2 to fly around when you could do incredible things on the bike without it
