love watching this kind of video as I also go back to Japan once a year. Never heard of the sekken before- I hope I can find one next time in Japan! Seijo Ishii usually got lots of great items for souvenir. Have you tried to go and shop at Kaldi? I also love shopping there. The sunglasses look very cool! Lots of interesting gift items! Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for watching! Yup, Kaldi has always been one of my go-to spots, lots of good stuff there! That’s great that you get to go back often :)

Really interesting to see what you want to bring back. Barrett! Another plus for you, I might imagine, is that you can get those items "Tax Free", saving another 7%. I searched for "Sekitan Cough Medicine" but couldn't find anything other than a retailer in Jakarta selling it. I have a hard time finding effective cough remedies that don't have weird side effects.

Thanks! We end up shopping online a lot though which makes it hard. Yeah we didn’t know about Sekitan either… we had to search for it online when someone asked us for it. I wonder if it’s good…

Thanks for your tips, very interesting! I need to look for that chili sauce and throat powder, will come in handy. Most of the time when I go to the store, I usually go by myself. Since I can't read Japanese, I usually walk by all that stuff without knowing what it is! The things I usually bring back to California when I visit my family are many types of Japanese snacks, awamori (okinawa alcohol) , and whiskey made in Okinawa. (they use rice). I recently tried Shouchu, It was very smooth and tasty.

Thanks for watching! haha I know what you mean, I used to spend such a long time at the supermarket or store trying to figure things out. Things like the throat powder, I wouldn’t have figured it out on my own to be honest. Japanese snacks are awesome. Whiskey from Okinawa made with rice? I had no idea, I’m curious now!

What about baby product, are they cheaper in Japan?
@barrettish5 ай бұрын
I’m not sure actually, but I’d assume they generally are. Some clothes might be expensive. I’m not familiar with this category much though.
