Japan hit by biggest typhoon in decades - BBC News

Torrential rain and tornado-like winds are lashing large parts of Japan, as the country endures what could be its worst storm for 60 years.
The eye of Typhoon Hagibis made landfall shortly before 19:00 local time (10:00 GMT) in Izu Peninsula, southwest of Tokyo.
More than seven million people have been urged to leave their homes amid severe flood and landslide warnings.
Train services have been halted, and more than a thousand flights grounded.
One man was killed in Chiba, east of Tokyo, when high winds flipped his car.

I studied in Taiwan for three months in 2009 and while I was there Typhoon Morakot happened, and it was the worst typhoon in 64 years. Lots of landmarks and villages just got washed away. It was awful. I hope Japan makes it out OK for this one. They said they're evacuating so hopefully people will be out of the worst of it.

Presumably this disaster is an act of the god you are praying to, so praying to that god is unlikely to be impactful. Maybe you could try charitable giving. Possibly starting with an international relief agency, let's say the Red Cross or the Red Crescent. If you cannot afford to give money, they need volunteers too.
