Quick question (two really) if you dont mind. What led your family to choose off base housing? If you were to not find housing (not speaking it into existence) would you be able to change your mind and live on base?

So when went to the housing brief they told us we have to find off base housing because nothing was available on base. So we didn’t really have a choice. However, I always wanted to live off base to get the full experience of Japan so that worked out for us. The military member is placed on the housing list and once something becomes available they will let you know. If that happens before you find a home you could accept that offer.
