Very much in the grand manner. Ms. Argerich approaches this as chamber music -- a different and gratifying approach. Many times when she plays an accompaniment (as happens in all great concertos) she lays back and lets the orchestra players lead. It is said that she doesn't like to play alone, and I can see this is true from how she leans into what the orchestra's playing when she herself has a rest. One of the very greatest, from one of the very greatest.

So have I. I think it is the favorite of many pianists (among them it was Richter's) as it is so often their first real concerto. 60 years ago it was mine, and it has kept a special place in my heart!

She is truly wonderful, the conductor less so in this particular work. You seldom see soloist that frustrated as Argerich at 9.30, as the orchestra did not hit the mark at all. :D
