It seems then Prince Naruhito was a shy person, but I think he was so diplomat, he only listened to the Queen and the Duke's descriptions of the artifacts and books they were showing to him. Besides, as a guest of honour, he was being given descriptions about some official presents Japan had given to Britain many years ago, which means a whole peace and respect time between both nations. Queen Elizabeth is a perfect hostess; and so is Prince Philip.

@FormerGovernmentHuman2 жыл бұрын
There’s alot that goes into it. Emperor Hirihito was extremely shy as well, but I am not sure it’s shyness. As far as I can tell any emperor I have heard is soft spoken, which would make sense, the Emperor wouldn’t need to speak very loud since everyone should be hanging on his every word. Emperor Naruhito is a guest of not only another Monarchy, but a Queen that ended up reigning longer than any Monarch before except for Louis the 14th The Sun King. That seniority is a big deal in Japanese culture, technically he would be the learner of The Queen especially as her guest and his senior. She is displaying items associated with Japans relationship with Britain which has had good and bad moments since Matthew Perry forced open their ports to the US and Europe. These items are deserving of reverence I believe, since his ancestors were associated with sending or giving these items, several of which the Queen herself received from his Grandfather, and his father. She is also an associate of his elders and family and of high standing equal to himself, even though the Japanese may disagree. And if I am not mistaken when there are no cameras they still spend that extra time together which some world leaders or figureheads are loathe to do.
