Japan's Famous Nijo Fish Market & Sweet Sweet Dessert Buffet

During a trip to Sapporo, I could not resist making a trip to the famous Nijo Seafood market. It was fun to explore all the unique varieties of seafoods and produce here; from giant king crabs, to the most perfect looking (though pricey) pieces of fruits and melons. But what happens if you can't take home any of the items? The next best thing is a meal at the market with a chirashi bowl with all the varieties of seafoods from the market.
But it gets better because right across the market was a rather unique buffet! It's a dessert buffet themed rather whimsically. I'm not sure what I'm in store for, but it would be fun to find out!

I think I gained ten pounds watching you at the dessert buffet. 😂 It was fun watching you enjoy it. I've read that in Japan, a lot of strawberries are grown in Tochigi prefecture. I think there are other areas where they're also grown.

Tim: A suggestion for common courtesy: Learn simple, basic words of the countries you visit. Don't ALWAYS say: 'Thank You' (in English). That's akin to a Japanese visiting NYC saying: 'Arigato-Gozai Masu'. You'll be surprised how much you'll be appreciated for making an effort.

Coca everything looked fabulous, I think it would've been better if u would taste the strawberry first before u tasted any of the other sweet treats. Then u would have had the full effect of the sweetness of the strawberry. Was that an earl grey cheese cake? It looked like it was. I'll bet it was all so yummy. The fruit there is expensive because they take very special care in producing the sweetest best unblemished fruit. It has to b perfect. They grade their fruit and the best r very very expensive, for fruit!

Love the theme of the dessert buffet. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is one of my favorite books. The movie is good too. I don't eat many sweets now but would have totally enjoyed that buffet.
