Kyde and Eric It's snowing here in norfolk England😆. Are you hoping for a white Christmas too? Are you going to do the kfc Japanese thing? Bluberries are green on the inside...i think, white? I've never seen a white inside if a blueberry. Btw way had a katsu curry kit but I had no eggs for it to stick, it half worked with oil and flour lol but I bet it's really good from a restaurant.

Here in New Jersey where blueberries were first domesticated they are NOT white inside. Our's resemble marmalade tinged with red. As for flavor, pop one of these Jersey berries and you get intense toe curling bluuuuuuuberry. So we must assume the Japanese variety has been sanitized of all wild vulgarity.

You need either a international permit (easy to get in the states from AAA) or a Japanese licence to drive here. We use Japanese travel magazines for these trips inside of Japan, but you'd need to be able to read Japanese to get much out of them. We just get them at book stores here. Otherwise a combination of Lonely Planet and the internet could get you a pretty solid plan built. -E

@AdamShaiken7 жыл бұрын
Good to know and good for you...I wish you better tasting fruit in the future. The blueberries I consume literally taste like candy at times because they are so sweet and their flavor(they are clear to blueish inside)are absolutely to die for IMHO. To eat their own...I mean to each their own ! Fresh, frozen or dried they all just make me sharper and quicker when it comes to tasks of the mind.
@ikaruseijin017 жыл бұрын
Yeah the blueberry flesh is colourless or sometimes a little bit red-purple. Virtually all their colour is in the skin, and they're not even blue but a dark purple with a powdery skin that makes it look blue.. Wild blueberries are far better than farm raised, certainly the kinds that get set up for commercial production. Where I live is where the blueberry came from. The wild bushes are maybe 2 feet tall, tops... and the berries have a much more pronounced flavour. In any handful you pick however, there is a dud. So something like 15% of them are tasteless for some reason. One can buy wild berries at the farmer's market when they're in season, and you can tell because they're smaller and have a wider variation in skin colour.

No wonder you don't like blueberries, those type of blueberries are not good. You have to try wild blueberries, they are small plants and are red/purple inside with a very different texture and amazing strong taste, more like cherries.
@osenmosen7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, TIL what we call blueberries (literal translation) here in Sweden isn't the same thing as what the rest of the world call blueberries. They're actually called bilberry in English, or European blueberries. They grow in low-growing shrubs, are much smaller and are, as you say, purple inside. They're also full of flavor. It's a different species apparently. I was thinking that those are some mutant ass Japanese blueberry shrubs and was questioning my sanity when seeing the white color. I'm 30 years old and I had no idea.
@reallusionful7 жыл бұрын
Hahah This is another thing they should try when in Europe apparently. I've seen those white ones when I was a kid and they were not good at all. I am 30 as well and I've seen the white ones just once :D
