@@liamcluett1298 the cost yes, absolutely so. But the value to the owner though, might be different. Some people have restored junk into pristine beauties, because they want to. And if nothing else, some parts can be taken off and used to save other cars. The sum of the parts may be worth more than the whole.

Oh god, all those 180's just disappearing into rust, just so sad. I remember when I was a kid in the early 2000's playing Need for Speed Underground and my favorite car was the 180 because it had the best looking taillights when you upgraded them to the chrome inserts. It pains me to see them like that but, life goes on and so do the memories of these great JDM legends.

@@butter7734 same here in poland, a month ago i cleared the rust and painted fenders on my 98' mazda 626, it was getting hot so i was happy its not gonna come out too fast. Sadly life is brutal and we got a snow out of nowhere haha , third day of snow after they used salt on roads the rust showed up again :( ehhh

I get the same feeling walking around scrap yards when you see old rarities that are almost perfect but been taken off the road for something COMPLETELY repairable but because the paperwork has been filled for it being recycled it can't ever be used on the road again in the UK. Sad times mann

@@markphillips6998 It's the same here in the Netherlands I think. Once a car is scrapped it's often because of failed inspection like you have MOT. It's not economically viable to safe the car so it gets parted out and sold at the junkyarda. You can't safe cars from the scrapyard here really, once they're there they're just parts.

@@BierdopjeNL yea for sure mann, over here if it's been in a crash and its salvageable you can repair it and put it back on the road but it's graded in category. I'm no expert but I do know that past a certain category it's repairable but has to go to vosa to have a special test as opposed to a regular mot. I've always used good salvage parts where possible to keep my shit boxes going haha. Nice to hear from you bro 🤙

That’s why I’ve gotten my self a e36 328 coupe. Even though it’s not a jmd car, the concept is very close to a lot of Jdm cars and even the design goes in the same direction

My shop, we specialize in get cars like that back on the road again for other to enjoy and see again, like WOW! My childhood car just drive by, and give back to the community that way, but it’s a long and most time not vary profitable but end of the day…worth it!!

So sad to see. I almost couldn't bear to watch to the end. I'm glad my old S13 is in good hands and doing well. With all the time and money I put into it, I couldn't bear seeing it rot away or turn into a drift missile.

i find abandoned cars like this sad, of course but also in a sense soothing? the cars have their own tales and stories they've gone trough and now, they're in a sense resting till they're part of the ground or pulled up and brought back to life. but knowing one was taken just to be salvaged and scrapped would break my heart the most

I came across your channel today and I have watched a few of your abandoned cars videos. It honestly breaks my heart to see such beautiful cars dumped and rotting especially such sought after cars. I live in Victoria Australia and here even base models of some of these are worth a fortune, the JDM scene here would be so sad to see these. Awesome video Sam and all those cars just wasting away. The rusted holes placement on the trunk of the red 180 look like where the rear spoiler was attached. The EK civic looks like the only car I’d want from that car lot and part out the rest.

Great video's Sam and oh so sad. You never mention it but I'm sure you must realise that the reason some of the cars suffer so badly with rust could be because they are victims of the 2011 Tsunami and were probably partially or even fully submerged in sea water. Can't think of any other reason why the rot should be so bad, sea spray or not. Keep up the good work.

That Datsun ute is a Datsun 620, really old! Like 70's old. It looks surprisingly good on the outside considering, maybe it hasnt been there that long? On the other hand, that rust on the black 180 is insane! It looks like the mounts for the hatch have rusted away and the hatch has slid down? Wild Such a shame to see those cars go to waste, yes they might not be salvageable as a whole car but there is definitely ALOT of parts and panels that can keep other cars alive Really enjoy watching videos like this, sad but cool to see at the same time, Japan is awesome

You can get pignose here in the states and the were just for show. They weren't actually vents. We just cut them out so it does work as a vent.

If you explore around certain parts of the U.S. you'll find lots of abandoned American muscle from the 60s and early 70s just rotting to pretty much nothing. There used to be this car sitting out by my families property. It belonged to an old man, in his 90s back in like 2005.. well the car was an old 64 1/2 mustang his son bought, his son passed away in 92 and the car was already rusted out before 92, now all that's really recognizable is the roof structure and the rear end. Living by salt water is no joke.
