@@liamcluett1298 the cost yes, absolutely so. But the value to the owner though, might be different. Some people have restored junk into pristine beauties, because they want to. Oh god, all those 180's just disappearing into rust, just so sad. I remember when I was a kid in the early 2000's playing Need for Speed Underground and my favorite car was the 180 because it had the best looking taillights when you upgraded them to the chrome inserts. It pains me to see them like that but, life goes on and so do the memories of these great JDM legends.

@@markphillips6998 It's the same here in the Netherlands I think. Once a car is scrapped it's often because of failed inspection like you have MOT. It's not economically viable to safe the car so it gets parted out and sold at the junkyarda. You can't safe cars from the scrapyard here really, once they're there they're just parts.

@@BierdopjeNL yea for sure mann, over here if it's been in a crash and its salvageable you can repair it and put it back on the road but it's graded in category. Great video's Sam and oh so sad. You never mention it but I'm sure you must realise that the reason some of the cars suffer so badly with rust could be because they are victims of the 2011 Tsunami and were probably partially or even fully submerged in sea water. Can't think of any other reason why the rot should be so bad, sea spray or not. Keep up the good work.

If you explore around certain parts of the U.S. you'll find lots of abandoned American muscle from the 60s and early 70s just rotting to pretty much nothing. There used to be this car sitting out by my families property. It belonged to an old man, in his 90s back in like 2005.. well the car was an old 64 1/2 mustang his son bought, his son passed away in 92 and the car was already rusted out before 92, now all that's really recognizable is the roof structure and the rear end. Living by salt water is no joke.
