Which of these coffee stores would you wanna try? ☕️

Just got back from a holiday in tokyo and ee really liked the excelsior coffee shops, we went to one in shibuya and one at skytree and both had the bird sounds and relaxing music, love this chain! From the UK x

Great review, but big city Japan has such an abundance of specialty and mom&pop cafes that I never considered going to a chain. OTOH, for the first few days of every trip I’m obsessed with konbini sandwiches. 😅

During our first visit we were stunned by the amount of times we went into trying new coffee places that majority of them gave us instant headaches when they had smoking within and like you said, the 'areas' dedicated for smoking doesn't stop the smoke from entering the rest of the cafe. We ended up staying away from any place that allowed smoking.

My first visit to Japan (Tokyo and Kyoto) was a couple of weeks ago and I could have done with this video then ☺ I struggled to find a decent early morning cafe that coincided with my VERY early morning visits to the popular tourist spots. Even harder to find one that did flat whites. Shout out to Vermillion cafe near Fushimi Inari Shrine that opened at 8.30am AND made an excellent flat white! So good!

Great video Sarah! I’ve been to excelsior before, but the location you went to is way nicer 😀 Sarutahiko is definitely my favourite chain coffee shop!

I love coffee so I try to visit a few every time I’m out there. However, St. Marc takes the cake for me. I absolutely love their chococro. I also recently went to Tully’s out there for the first time and really enjoyed their Matcha Latte. I really like that these larger cafes are so accommodating of people wanting to work or study there. There’s been a recent trend of big chains downsizing their locations here in the Southwestern US to eliminate indoor seating altogether in favor of simply picking up your drink. I have YET to try Pronto, though. I saw them everywhere yet never stopped in. The cafe / bar concept is so neat! Also, that Sarutahiko location is awesome, especially since you get to watch the train go by! Love your videos as always!

Yay, a review of the bigger coffee chains!! I've been looking forward to this one. You really hit the pavement after your poll on what to vlog about. I was surprised how fast you turned this one around. I haven't heard of a few of these shops, so I'll have to seek them out if I get a chance. There were a few others I'd heard of but not been to, much like Sarah. That Saint Marc croissant is great! I thought I remembered Doutor also having a nice chocolate croissant, but I might be mistaken. I'm looking forward to the next review! I know there's Hoshino and Komeda. And I don't know if there's Nishimura in the Tokyo area, but I like going there in Kobe. Can't wait to see what other chains you introduce us to.

@janusu3 сағат бұрын
Sometimes going to the diviest restaurants or run-of-the-mill local chains gives you an opportunity to experience what the locals typically do. They're not all going to kaiseki restaurants and eating Kobe beef and risking their lives on fugu every day. Those things are cool, too, but I definitely like to get a more authentic local experience, and I think that's the appeal for a lot of people. I'd rather go to a local coffee chain than a Starbucks when I'm in another country.
