@irrationalmoon4 жыл бұрын
It happens everywhere. It's easier to blame the victim than it is to confront the bully. Unfortunately, if someone decides to bully you, there's nothing you can do, no changes you can make to keep them from going after you because *they* are the bully and they control their behavior. You cannot ethically control another's behavior. So many people in authority positions get it wrong, and often it feels like laziness. And the rumor that fighting the bully will stop it is just...it's just putting the responsibility on the victim. Fighting the bully just means they'll bring more people next time, and perhaps the victim will be in trouble for standing up for themselves. In a situation with children, only adult intervention can truly put a stop to it, but that takes a lot of effort, so most teachers, administrators, etc don't bother.

It's a bit of everything, it's the spirit of modernity: godlessness, the love of money, rampant corruption on all levels of society (especially the upper layer), cynicism instead of idealism, hyperindividualism, silencing/oppressing dissidents, medicating outsiders instead of seeing them as the canaries in the coalmine, feminism making the rich richer but the common people poorer while cutting them off from their children (families can't survive on one salary anymore - at the same time women demand more of a potential partner than ever before in history... being average isn't good enough for men anymore), the lack of jobs and having zero chance of ever becoming a home owner or a parent - the political focus on things like 58 genders, making people ever crazier, while ignoring actual socio-economic issues - the destruction of community/culture/tradition through mass migration, consumerism & popculture (which can only appeal to rootless, migrating people but is really disgusting, hollow and forgettable - think Marvel movies or samey rap videos on MTV, and yet that crap replaces actual art and culture) and the alienation and anxiety which comes with each and every of these developments... what's the purpose of living these meaningless lives we lead as worker ants without ties to other people? There's none. And now with the Coronavirus lockdown, the international elite is inching closer towards its goal of establishing only two classes: a class which owns everything, the self-appointed rulers of the planet, and an underclass which owns nothing. They find excuses to force that setup upon us too. In the West live in the most evil system of all times: the liberal (world) order. Earth is an open air prison these days, it's up to us to overthrow our parasitical ruling elites and return to normalcy and old school values. Perhaps there will one day come a time when all these vile elites which have governed us for a long time now will be gone - as well as the invisible rulers, the real bosses of the world order, like bankers - but it's up to us to do it, no matter how, no matter the cost. Modern society has entirely let down some generations. The cost of living in the developed world is ridiculous.
@UToobUsername014 жыл бұрын
It's the illuminati. They brainwashed people into working hard and then as the central banks print new money into existence this devalues the old money and the businesses (in order to profit) are forced to raise the cost in goods and services which then means workers must ask bosses for a raise just to keep thier head above water. But sometimes bosses do not give the raise so the wife and kids must make do with a lower standard of living. Unfortunately women do not handle that well so they prefer to seek out welfare instead and this causes the nation to go further into debt and hope future generations will foot the bill. Unfortunately since nobody is breeding and having kids (thanks feminist who kill babies in abortion clinics) you introduce the problem of aging population and no new young people to replace them. Who is going to pay the bill??????? So we tinfoilers are right to criticise the keynesian economic system. Until you get a Ron Paul type leader into power (which allows for a sound money system) you will NOT see an improvement in the situation. Japan is said to be "the canary in the coal mine" to us in the MGTOW community. As a GenX kid I can see the problem of boomer generation but they were lied to as well and so it's important to look for innovators like Robert Kiyosaki and others for guidance for young people today who do not want to work the 9-5 grind but are willing to work SMARTER not harder. IE by looking for ways to make money work for YOU. The smartest guys know the system is F'ed up but it's hard to get the average joe to listen because they are like brainwashed lemmings similar to feminist collectivists who believe we OWE them jobs rather than them having to earn it through merit.

To quote Keanu Reeves, "You don't struggle with depression, you struggle with the reality we live in". Our societies have made our lives so god damn miserable where we feel useless if we aren't qualified for jobs. Our society has also made sure we look down on those who struggle with these situations which further causes people with these situations to suffer. Eventually develop conditions that feel like poison, slowly killing them.

Yes it`s true - but in Japan the problem is much more severe. I think it may be related to Japanese "face culture". In Japan your position in society is determined strictly by your accomplishments, if you do not live to expectations then you are losing face and people look down on you(and your family). So young(or not so young) people are choosing to withdraw from society that is disrespecting them and their families are accepting it - because they can pretend that problem does not exist. In western culture we are more individualistic and focused on living a comfortable life, prestige is of course important but it`s not crucial, for European most important thing is feeling good about yourself, not what other people think(Asian people pretty often consider European self-confidence unjustified and silly).

I was born deaf in Japan, all thanks to my parents strong will to give me a better life/opportunity by learning how to speak/hear or listen and led a normal life meaning attending all hearing schools, not deaf school. I learned later from my parents that the deaf school in Japan treat deaf students like robots that's why they don't want me go there. Anyways I was bullied, treated differently by classmates and an male elementary teacher who hit me on my head just because I refused to take the test. Why? I just got back into class after three weeks absence due to dog bite on my head that required 28 stitches...my classmates did not hand me any school homework for me to catch up that's why I missed out. Fortunately my parents decided enough is enough and immigrated to NZ when I was eight. However bullying doesn't end there either, because I'm deaf, able to speak two languages and able to live normal life/society without any assistance. I learn to realise that others are jealous of me that's why they bullied me. The more they bullied me I've become more stronger and resilient. Japan is not alone, every countries have same problem.

The problem is not just the society wanting money and more money. The problem is the overall Japanese culture and mentality. Money may be a significant incentive too, but it is not the primary one. Japan still functions based on some emulation of the bushido code, but no longer applied in a military setting, but in business and everyday life. Just as in the past, before World War 2, you were expected to learn, train and fight in wars to bring glory, honor and respect to your family, your community and the country, now you are required to learn, train, advance and fight in everyday life to bring honor, respect and a higher status for your family, community and country. It is this mentality that has to go away. The Confucian idea that one should give up any form of individualism in order to promote a collective cause is at the root of all bad things that are now happening in China, South Korea and Japan in particular. I am not saying you should not care for your family, for your community and for your country. On the contrary. But these should never take precedence over the individual. Because if the individual will have a hard life, full of suffering, the family will share this burden, the community will too and eventually, the whole country will. As we can see here. These reclusive individuals had their lives destroyed by their family, community and country, and in turn they are not destroying the family, community and country. A common domino effect. Japan is addressing this problem now as soon enough, the first generation of reclusive people will be reaching their 60s, their parents will die off and they will have no other choice than to go for social welfare. And we speak of a country that already spends quite a lot of money on social welfare, particularly related to elderly healthcare. Kids need to be kids. Throwing them from such an early age into a spiral of ruthless competition, putting pressure on them to be the best and shaming them for failure leads to these results. Even when they grow older and go to middle and high school, they should still be given the opportunity to enjoy life, not spend all their youth buried in books, constantly learning and attending classes just to get to a top university with unrealistically high demands. By the time they complete their education, they become tired individuals. And when they see that obtaining a job is also difficult, they snap. Because you come to realize something and ask yourself, 'what was all that effort for?' Some kids may be able to put up with this kind of pressure. But some won't. We have to accept that not all kids can succeed. Some are bound to win, some are bound to lose. This is life. And those who lose should not be shamed, but instead be encouraged, supported so they can find meaning for their lives.
@Kalimdor199Menegroth4 жыл бұрын
@Warner Bros I don't think it was the job of the Americans to reshape the entire cultural narrative of Japan. That was the job of the Japanese themselves and it should be. The Americans did more than enough for them by allowing them to develop economically to the great power that it somewhat still is today. Japanese have expressed before and after World War 2 willingness to adopt Western customs, but on their own will and under their own conditions. The Japanese should do like any other civilization did in order to advance (and they've done this before too). Cut off liabilities and adopt the methods that were successful for others. Just to give you an example, Scotland. Before the 18th century, the Scottish were among the most poor and backward people in Europe. After they united with England at the beginning of the 18th century, they adopted so many customs from the English, they almost gave up their own language. But as a result, by the turn of the 18th century and the 19th century, they produced an intellectual elite that had an important say in the political, economical, philosophical and cultural life of not only Britain, but in their overseas territories too and eventually, the entire world. Adam Smith was Scottish. David Hume was Scottish. Robert Burns, John Playfair or James Hutton were also Scottish. The Scottish Enlightenment was a product of adopting successful customs from the English, who by the 18th century was already shaping up to be at the forefront of the European civilization. Same as the Italian Renaissance benefited a lot from Greek scholars from the Byzantine Empire.

The bother's question is not quite as weird as it first seems, if you understand Japanese culture. Traditionally Japanese people would be prepared to kill family members who had brought dishonor upon the entire family. The same thing happens in Indian and Islamic cultures. It's really just western society that can't relate to this issue at all because Westerners don't have the same sense of personal/family honor that other cultures and societies do. That's both a good and a bad thing. It means, for example, that many Westerners don't care when their son/daughter/brother/sister goes off track and becomes a criminal or drug addict. They just leave them to their own fate.

Typical, not only Japan but most other societies in the world (except the Blue Zones and Denmark). At school, you have to be sporty, witty --- and most vital of all --- *COOL.* If you are "weird", a "nerd" or an "outsider", you get bullied at worse, shunned and ostracized by cliques at best. Then as an adult, you *MUST* have a successful career or business, drive a luxury car/SUV, live in a suburban home, be happily married with two kids; in other words, "keep up with the Joneses" (i.e. wasting money you don't have [or better yet, going into debt], on things you don't need, so that jerks don't gossip about you). And still be COOL and witty. Only then will people respect and admire you and be your friend. If not, you are looked-down upon as a loser, a failure, a nobody, and no one will marry you or be your friend (except beggars, perverts and missionaries). Forget the "real world". Just live in cyberspace, including remote work, befriend cats and dogs, and go for walks in nature.

@@col.cottonhill6655 Both Communism and Capitalism are guilty of perpetuating modern society and all the damage it does. People in both societies are depressed, many can barely make it week to week, and yet they endure, off to work before the kids wake up and come home after dinner, instead of playing catch with their family, they go to bed to do it all over again while the kids spend the weekends watching youtube. I mean after all, what is the alternative? And the reward for playing into this system? They exist. they get to watch some megacorp (or government) ball latherer drive around in a fancy car or private jet, because they crammed and then sold you the venom that keeps the joke that is modern society deep into the veins of those same people that suffer due to it, and then you eat it up! Your kids look for a sense of community somewhere since the world they live in doesn't foster one, so they join gangs or fall in with others they identify with and get their morals from that. We often wonder why things got the way they are, if you are looking for the answer to why our world and societies are like they are, you need only look in the mirror. I have parents that love me but my nature is introversion and to stay in my room. I realized that I needed to do something constructive with my life so I got a job and now making progress. I have a friend that I see from time to time. He has depression and he has parents who love him but he stays in his room. Love is not the cure, the cure is to fight. Also there is still a lot of shame around the subject of mental health in Asian cultures. It's not that parents don't love their children, but more like they can't communicate openly and don't want to talk about "taboo" subjects.

I have always looked up to Japan... so JAPANESE ATROCITIES during WWII was something I didn't quite understand. But I am beginning to realize how SCARY and MENTALLY UNSTABLE Japanese society is. It's not just about this incident. Sexual harassment is normalized. Hikikimori (extreme social withdrawal) reaches 1.5 million in Japan High suicide rates High stalking rates 1 out 3 women has been domestically abused Toxic workplace Attempted sterilizing disabled people after 2nd world war ... the list goes on.

I felt A LOT like this during high school, being ostracized by the "popular" crowd because I didn't fit in. Eventually, after going through so much pain, I just stopped caring about what people thought of me. It hurt so much to care and be stressed, but it felt good to be me. I learned at lot about myself just being by myself, and I think that matters the most. Being true to yourself, not what others "think" you should be.

@masterdementer4 жыл бұрын
The best way to get out of that is make some friends. And choose your friends wisely not someone who just wants to take advantage of you by always aksing you for a treat or something. I use be pretty much alone before mostly but slowly when I made one good friend others joined in automatically cuz they were his friends and then before you know it you are one of them.

Kids in highschool are idiots. They're brains aren't yet developed, and they have 0 life experience. Try to find people who align with your morals, values and interests. It's okay to be on your own for a season in life, even if you think you don't need anyone, eventually that human contact means more than you think.

This was also me when I was in high school. From freshman year to senior year it was all a downhill slope but as I descended down that slope, at the very bottom I came at the same conclusion as you where I just stopped caring about what those other people think. I’ve lost a chunk of friends that were with me at the start of the year but that also showed me the friends that were still with me till the end. The friends I lost were so hypnotized into wanting to become like the popular crowd so I ditched them for my own well being and that they weren’t themselves anymore. My high school experience may as well be shit but if there’s one more thing I can say about it, it’s that it wasn’t a waste. Because it taught me to appreciate having a few close friends, and how to live life in terms of how you want to live it rather than how others want you to live it.

I'm comfortable with being alone and I enjoy being me. The problems happen when it feels like maintaining my own sense of self-dignity and keeping food on the table are mutually exclusive. Or when doing things by my own natural rhythm which allows me to stay sane and healthy conflicts with the ever-increasing pace of the modern world that doesn't care about me at all. I don't really have any marketable or survival skills and nothing to fall back on- not even the luxury of time to learn new things.

I'm working and all, but living with an inborn condition (Asperger's) at a workplace wasn't always easy. Oddly being forced to deal with emotions in an office environment in an analytical way by simply copying the most successful ways of reacting and default to helping out got me to the point where I have an actual career path ahead of me. It took me about 5 years to learn that skill and those years were harsh, but I'm better off than many who never had to learn those lessons on how to interact with people. Basics are: if you have time, help out colleagues who have a lot of work at the moment; always stay calm and listen; always smile at everyone

I have never seen people so unable to communicate than the Japanese people in Tokyo, eyes glued on their smartphone all the time, couples, father, children eating at the restaurant without a single word during 1 hours, overworked exhausted salarymen sleeping in the trains..... That's not to say that tokyo isn't an amazing city, it is and people are incredibly polite and helpful and will go soo far out of their way to help you it's incredible. One of the first things i noticed in Osaka though was that it seemed strange to her people laughing and joking in a metro station. i had only spent a week in tokyo and by this point but hearing people laugh in public was genuinely a little bit surprising due to the lack of it in tokyo. People were also smiling more and more willing to engage in random conversations. They just seemed to be having a bit more fun overall to be honest.
