Japan Secondhand Shop
Japan Surplus is very popular among Filipinos. In this video, I would like to share what's inside a Secondhand Shop here in JAPAN. (日本の古道具屋)
This Odin Store is located in Higashine, Yamagata. They sell various items such as automatic washing machine, furnitures, clothes, toys and many more! Name it, they have it! The items are all secondhand but still in good condition with reasonable prices.

I remember around 2000, I had a record store and my Japanese next door neighbor was a agent to buy American goods for them like toys that you can only get in the USA. Once a group of Japanese came here to buy (about 8 of them) to buy American vintage items and for like a week, they went to all the different vintage shops in San Francisco and brought back so much or accumulated so much, it filled up the 800 square feet office work space to ship back to Japan to bring to their resell shop in Tokyo. Around that time or in the late 90s I got into collecting vintage and they had a bunch of shops in SF. No one in SF/America was into, but I’d notice the Japanese were the ones buying up all the vintage stuff from Eames furniture to vintage clothes. Oh and that’s when ppl. started collecting Nike’s and Jordan’s. All the Japanese students would buy for their Japanese friends and buy up as much as they could and made a good profit. I used to see them on the release days and come out with like 10 pairs of Jordan or air max 95 and 97. And Americans were lucky to buy one pair. Yes, Japanese are huge consumers and maybe why they have such a large second hand market bc they are always buying the newest model and getting rid of the old that’s still current and working. I have Japanese electronic from the 70s and it still works like new and very well made.
