Sendai was my destination in Japan for my first trip there many years ago. I hope you had the chance to see Matsushima, one of the Three Views of Japan.

Beautiful train ride. The food and drinks had that boutique feel. When traveling by train 🚆 do you prefer the smooth highspeed floating type ride? Or is there something to the clunky rhythmic motion🚂🚃, that just helps one relax and become part of the journey? 🤔

Hi Allie I have an upcoming trip to Japan and I wanted to ride the gran class. It will be from Kanazawa to Tokyo. But I can’t find it on the EX app. Could you please tell me which stations I need to look for gran class?

Hi Allie These two destinations appear to be close together time wise, was the train the least expensive way to reach this destination? The food presentation on the train looked very nice, were they all sweets?

They are just a couple hours apart by bullet train. It’s nearly 4 hours by car, depending on traffic. The food was all savory except for one, which was the dessert.

Is this the most expensive class? How much is a trip? Do you find it easy to communicate with the attendants regarding your food choices, etc? Wish Amtrak looked like this lol

Sleeper is more expensive but not as many of those. Gran class is pricey but not the most expensive. Most things are automated and announcements are in Japanese and English. You don’t really need to communicate much with the staff. When you do, they always speak English (in our experiences so far).
