It’s good to see that you are recommending only Suica cards at the end of your video. Suica has always worked well for me, but I have had problems with Pasmo, with my card working in some regions of Japan, but not others. Also Pasmo is issued by Tokyo Metro which, in my experience, has appalling customer service if things should go wrong with a card: no refund of the deposit or remaining balance on a non-functioning card!

[Procedure] 1. Launch the PASMO app 2. On the PASMO list screen, it will be displayed under the PASMO card you want to check * If you have multiple PASMO cards, you can check the PASMO ID number of each card by swiping left and right on the card. * If you are using Apple Pay with PASMO on an Apple Watch that is set up for Family Sharing, you will not be able to check the PASMO ID number. If you want to check your PASMO ID number, turn off Family Sharing, prepare your own iPhone, pair it with this card, install the PASMO app, and check it.

How to Use Mobile Suica on Android? Unfortunately, it is not possible to use a mobile Suica on Android phones from overseas. Due to hardware restrictions, only Android from Japan can use the mobile Suica card because they use the FeliCa technology. FeliCa is not available on phones outside Japan, except for iPhones.

Unfortunately, you can use Suica in Osaka, but you cannot get the deposit back. If you want to return it, please return it in Tokyo. In Osaka, you will need to get and use another IC card called ICOCA, which you can return in Osaka.

Since they're making us register the cards, they should allow for online re-loading with a credit card. But I guess that's another year away 🤣 As for 'lending' a SUICA card, it probably won't be a big issue, who will be checking ID every time you use a SUICA card? Bus drivers certainly won't. I will get the Welcome SUICA since I will be landing in Narita, and I don't want to run around trying to find any other IC card.

@@mireyatapia4396 We loaded up all 3 mobile IC cards with the maximum amount (20,000 jpy) when the USD vs. JPY was 1:160 using our Apple Card to earn 3 points. For us this was the best way to go instead of taking out a ton of cash. (During our 3 weeks stay, we ended up using only our Apple Card for almost every purchase. We used suica/icoca mainly for buses.) Have fun planning/traveling to Japan!

Which airport will you arrive? If you arrive in Tokyo, Suica or Pasmo is the best If you arrive in Osaka, ICOCA is the best.

Any Japanese IC card will work - if you enter Japan in Osaka, you may as well buy the "local" ICOCA, it will work fine in Tokyo and everywhere else.
