We went to Moomin Valley Park in Hanno this beautiful day. It was a bit of a challenge though since it was also a battle against lumbago (really bad back pain) and a cold. But besides from these things it was a fantastic day.
As usual we got on a train at Tokyo station. Marunouchi Line boud for Ikebukuro Station where we switched train to Ikebukuro Line (Limitied Express) going to Hanno Station.
From Hanno station we took the bus the short trip to Moomin Valley Park.
All in all about 1 hour 30 minutes and tickets were around 1500 yen.
It was the Grand Opening and I believe the Finnish Ambassador visited to cut the ribbon for the premiere.
There was a lot of people queuing for the entrance but well inside the park it was not super crowded.
The park is well adopted for kids, which is the main audiens I guess. The museum is very interesting and gives some insight in the life of Tove Jansson. This part maybe is more for adults.
I could buy some special edition Moomin mugs, only available at the park, which was an extra bonus. The Moomin mugs are highly collectible in Sweden and Finland if you wonder.
Outside the park, before you come to the park entrance, there is a small "village" with some resturants and shops selling scandinavian inspired stuff.
We had booked the Park tickets in advance. I think they were around 3000 yen.

Despite a bad back and a cold this day turned out to be a fantastic day. I enjoyed it a lot!
