This video was really nice and helpful. I followed your video during my trip to Okutama and enjoyed a lot. Very good suggestion on the Kamameshi also. It’s one of my favourite Japanese foods. Thanks a lot! ❤

😍Thank you for your delightful comment, Bhadra-san! I'm thrilled to hear that my video was helpful to you and that you enjoyed your trip to Okutama. I also love Kamameshi among Japanese cuisines! Kamameshi Naka is a place where not only the Kamameshi is delicious, but the atmosphere of the restaurant is great, and the staff are very kind! It's a place I'd love to visit again. Thanks again for your comment!

HiTokyo walking-san😉You walked for 7 hours!😲That must have been tough. 😅Did you go as far as Kori Station? I didn't go to that station but chose the shorter route to the Hatonosu station. I recommend going to the Okutama tourist information center because they will provide helpful information! Please go there during fall when the leaves change and take some amazing videos!🍁Arigatou for your comment!!

Hi Douglas-san😄 I'm so glad you enjoyed my video. Thanks again for your encouraging comment😍 Your comments always motivate me! Are the mountain landscapes in Japan much different from those in the U.S.? My imagination of the mountain area in the U.S. is so vast that a beginner would get lost in them! Now I'm exhausted even hiking in Japan’s beginner course but I'd like to train myself and challenge the vast nature in the U.S. someday in the future!⛰🚶‍♀️⛰

Hi Atsuko-san, thank you so much for this amazing video. May I ask if this is for 1-day trip from Tokyo? Much appreciated if you can share about the timing also, like how long did it take for this whole trip, when is the last departure of buses/trains back to Tokyo. Many thanks!

Hi! Linh Nguyễn-san, Thank you for your comment! Using a local train takes 2 to 3 hours from Tokyo station to Okutama station. The train schedule is different from weekdays and weekends. Sometimes a special rapid train to Okutama operates on weekends. So please use some transportation apps for train schedules. I recommend the "Japan Transit Planner" app (red one) You can also check the last train with this app! In my video, I went to a cave and Kamameshi restaurant on the 1st day, and on the 2nd day, I went to a trekking trail and Sawanoi-en. You need 2 days to cover my route, so please choose the cave or trekking course if you are going on a 1-day trip. Please check the weather news and this website before you go to Okutama! www.ces-net.jp/okutamavc/info/52 I hope you have a wonderful time at Okutama!

Hi,月Eri-san, It's unbearably hot even in the forests of Okutama. In August, it can be quite tough around the Tokyo area without air conditioning. However, everyone feels differently, so I recommend Googling the temperature of the place you want to visit.😉

Is this ok to do as a day trip or are there hotels in the area?
@GetToKnowJapanTogether
@GetToKnowJapanTogether 4 ай бұрын
Hi😆Melissa-san, Thank you for your comment!! I think it might be a bit challenging to visit all the places I introduced in the video in just a day trip. If you skip the cave and focus only on hiking, you can definitely enjoy it in a day. One popular accommodation in the area is "奥多摩の風 はとのす荘 Okutama no Kaze Hatonosu-so" If you're interested, please try searching for it. Also, there are plenty of hotels in nearby cities like Hachioji and Tachikawa. Now is the perfect season for hiking in Okutama! Enjoy your time, but be cautious of bears.🐻🌸

Konnichiwa, Gundam-san 😀I am sorry for the misunderstanding. Okutama has an abundance of natural beauty hence, it may be hard to believe it's a part of Tokyo. Nonetheless, Okutama is indeed a part of Tokyo, with its official address being Okutama-cho, Nishitama-gun, Tokyo. I appreciate you bringing up the topic of access to Okutama. I completely forgot to mention in my video that the regular train journey from Tokyo or Shinjuku takes approximately 2.5 hours. However, on Saturdays and Sundays, there's a special rapid train that can get you there in just 1 hour and 40 minutes.
