What great timing, I just arrived in Hakone today & I'm also planning to go on the pirate trip tomorrow! For a great view of Lake Ashi & Hakone Shrine (& a lovely break with a foot onsen!), I would recommend the Bakery & Table for a tea/coffee/baked goods (sweet and savoury) or sandwich. Definitely recommend the curry bread with egg, oh my goodness, so delicious!!

Yay! That’s perfect!! For us we only had one full day too and we decided on Lake Ashinoko and Owakudani! Those are the major sites and were so worth it. The one thing that trumped all was I wanted a ryokan in Hakone since that is what they are famous for too! I was really happy with how we did our Hakone trip! If people are doing like a bus tour from Tokyo, then if you look on Klook you can get the Hakone Free Pass. It has the same attractions and transportation options that I showed in this video! :D
